When Sr. What started as a small soup kitchen to feed 20-30 men today consist

s of a campus of 17 buildings including the state's largest soup kitchen, permanent supportive housing and mother-child reunification and fatherhood centers. But Amos House has continued to respond to the ever changing needs of our community. Our growth has included a 90-Day Recovery- Based Program, ten buildings dedicated to supportive housing, culinary and carpentry training programs, a literacy center and businesses that employ men and women and generate income. We have moved from a grass-roots soup kitchen to a comprehensive social service agency with a staff of over 90 employees, more than half of whom are former guests. .

At Amos House, we believe the people closest to the challenges are closest to the solutions.

As Amos House President & CEO, Eileen Hayes shares, Earl is one of those people. Once a guest here, now a Phase 2 Care Coordinator, he brings lived experience, credibility, deep understanding, and personal passion to his work every day.

Nearly 60% of our staff bring lived experience to their roles. It’s not just part of our story, it’s what makes our work real. It’s who we are.

Earl and others who have walked this path themselves bring a perspective and deep caring to their roles that make their work especially impactful for those receiving services here.

That’s how we build trust. That’s how we create real change. Thank you, Earl. ❤ 6/50

This Mother’s Day, we honor the strength of motherhood in all its forms. Through our Mother‑Child Reunification Program, moms in recovery are doing the courageous work of healing, securing stable housing, and rebuilding their families, step by step, day by day.

These mothers are choosing recovery.
They are choosing stability.
They are choosing their children...and themselves.

Today, we celebrate their resilience and the power of second chances. Meet Alison. Alison is sharing her story at Amos House's Mother-child Reunification Program, but it doesn't end there. Today, Alison is an active mom, involved community member, Building Trades Program graduate, and proud Amos House employee.

Happy Mother's Day to Alison and all moms. We know the road isn't always easy or straight forward. We're proud of you. ❤ 5/50
