It was a great day for a cleanup! Our team and volunteers were out in Providence responding to a requested cleanup and helping keep our community safe and welcoming for everyone.

Just a reminder that we offer a syringe cleanup service for Providence residents through our Syringe Hotline. If you need a cleanup scheduled, call 401-236-4907 and our team will respond as quickly as possible.

We are incredibly grateful to The Champlin Foundation for their generous capital grant of $124,128 to support essential code compliance repairs at our new Pawtucket building at 36 Park Place.

These critical improvements will help create a stable, permanent home for our life-saving services in the Pawtucket and Central Falls communities for years to come. 🌱

It’s International Overdose Awareness Day T-shirt time! 💜

We’re inviting our creative community to help design this year’s shirts for International Overdose Awareness Day, which we’ll be commemorating Monday, August 31 through Tuesday, September 1. These shirts will be worn by staff, clients, volunteers, and community members at events across Rhode Island as we come together to honor this important day.

This year’s theme is: “25 years on. Still needed.”

We’re looking for designs that reflect this year’s theme along with community, love, loss, hope, stigma reduction, and the importance of continuing this work every day.

The winning designer will receive a $500 prize and their artwork will be featured on this year’s shirts. A community committee will review all submissions and select the final design.

➡Submission deadline: June 12
➡Winner announced: June 25

We can't wait to see what you come up with! 😍🥰

We're excited to be at the Coastal Cultivator’s Classic this Saturday, May 16th at Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket.

Our table will be stocked with harm reduction supplies and educational info. If you’re coming through, stop by, say hi, and grab what you need. We’re always happy to connect, answer questions, and share what harm reduction looks like in practice.

On Harm Reduction Day, May 7th, our team had the opportunity to slow down and spend meaningful time together through drama therapy provided by 2nd Act and a delicious meal generously donated by PONI.

The day felt especially meaningful as we celebrated two of our staff members, Tyrone and Nicole, who both earned their bachelor’s degrees this week. Watching them reach this milestone, especially while they continue to give so much to our community every day, was really special. We’re incredibly proud of them and grateful to share these moments together as a team. 💜

Today on Harm Reduction Day, we reflect on the impact of our work and why it matters.

Since opening the overdose prevention center, 900 individuals came through our doors across 12,016 visits. During that time, our team intervened in 207 life-threatening situations.

As our Deputy Director, Ashley Perry, shared:
“As we reflect on this year, we are reminded why this work is so deeply personal. Our collective grief brought us here. We continue to honor the fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, and loved ones lost too soon to overdose. Their lives are not forgotten. They live on in this space and in our ongoing commitment to prevent further loss.”

Thank you for standing with us and helping us carry this work forward. Happy Harm Reduction Day. 💜✌

We’re excited to share the new Beyond (the Understanding of Gender) May schedule!

The Beyond support group is a space for anyone who identifies as trans, nonbinary, or gender-diverse to connect, learn, and build community in a supportive, affirming environment.

We hope to see you there! 🌸

Our team had a great time at the Together for Hope conference hosted by the Grayken Center for Addiction.

It was an inspiring couple of days connecting with providers, advocates, and leaders from across the region, sharing knowledge and learning from one another as we continue this work.

Thank you to PWR’s Medical Director, Miriam Harris, for making it possible for so many members of our team to attend. 💜

We were honored to visit the RI State House yesterday and be recognized on the House floor by Representative Brandon Potter for the impact the PWR team has on our community.

We’re grateful to stand alongside leaders who believe in harm reduction, dignity, and real pathways to care. Thank you for helping elevate this work and the voices behind it .
