On Tuesday, September 1st, from 6-8 PM at Burnside Park in Providence, we will be holding a community meal and vigil as part of the day's events commemorating International Overdose Awareness Day. This gathering is a time to remember and honor those we've lost to overdose.

If you would like the name of someone you know to be read at the vigil, please email us at [email protected].

International Overdose Awareness Day is the world's largest annual campaign to end overdose. It helps educate others on how to recognize an overdose and use Narcan to reverse one.

A huge THANK YOU to White Electric Coffee Co-op for their $630 donation to PWR! ❤️☕️

We’re so grateful to community partners like White Electric who not only support our work, but help raise awareness and connect more people to the work we do.

Thank you to everyone who grabbed a summer drink special in June and helped make this donation possible, and a special thank you to the White Electric team for choosing Project Weber/RENEW and for continuing to show up for our community.

We’re so proud to celebrate our Executive Director, Colleen Daley Ndoye, for being named one of Providence Business News ’ 40 Driving Forces of Rhode Island’s economy! 💙

It’s especially meaningful to see PWR’s work recognized alongside leaders and organizations from across Rhode Island’s nonprofit, business, healthcare, education, and civic communities. To be part of a group of people working every day to strengthen our state for all Rhode Islanders is an incredible honor.

This recognition also reflects more than a moment. It speaks to nearly 20 years of diligent advocacy, grassroots organizing, and community-driven work that have brought PWR to this point. We’re proud of how far this work has come and grateful to everyone who has helped us get here.

Congratulations, Colleen! We’re so proud of you and all you do to move Rhode Island forward. ❤️

*** UPDATE! Plumbing issue resolved! We will reopen on Tuesday, 8/18 at 9:30! ***

Due to plumbing issues, our Providence location at 45 Willard Ave. will be closed today, August 17th.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We will keep everyone updated and let you know as soon as we have more information about reopening.

We had our Community BBQ today and served up **360 plates** of food! We’re so grateful to everyone who came out, grabbed a plate, and spent some time with us. ❤️

A huge thank you to our staff and volunteers who helped make it happen. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Also...a very special shout out to our incredible summer interns, Thomas and Alex (seen with Ashley and Colleen on photo/slide 1)! You both put so much heart and compassion into every single thing you did and were always ready to help wherever you were needed. We’re so grateful for all your hard work this summer. ❤️

A huge thank you to the Rhode Island Energy Foundation for their support of Project Weber/RENEW through a $20,000 grant!

This funding will help us provide food, water, hygiene supplies, and other essential basic needs items to the more than 7,000 Rhode Islanders we serve each year.

Thank you for standing with us as we work to ensure that every person in our community has their basic needs met and is met with compassion, dignity, and care. 💜
