I had the pleasure of attending the Bethany Children's Home annual meeting. It was wonderful to hear about the incredible impact they’ve made serving our community's youth this year, as well as their exciting vision for the future. The meeting also marked a significant transition, with the announcement of President and CEO Dr. Joseph Birli’s upcoming retirement. I want to congratulate Deputy CEO Nick Hill, who will be stepping into the role. I look forward to seeing Bethany continue to thrive and fulfill its vital mission under this new leadership.

Heading outdoors? 🦌🌿

The Pennsylvania Game Commission reminds everyone to leave young wildlife alone. Animals that appear abandoned are often being watched and cared for by their mothers nearby.

Removing wildlife from its natural habitat can be harmful and is illegal. If you find an animal that is truly injured or orphaned, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator or call 1-833-PGC-WILD for assistance.

Know a young person interested in wildlife, conservation, or law enforcement? 🦌🌲

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hosting a Junior Game Warden Camp on July 24 at the Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area Visitor Center in Stevens for youth ages 12-15.

Campers will spend the day with Pennsylvania state game wardens, participating in hands-on activities, fitness challenges, and learning about wildlife management, habitat conservation, and the responsibilities of a game warden.

Registration is required, and space is limited. This is a great opportunity for young people to explore a unique and rewarding career while enjoying the outdoors!

Protecting taxpayer dollars and strengthening security for families who rely on food assistance.

The House Human Services Committee unanimously approved House Bill 2540, a bipartisan measure to replace outdated EBT cards with secure chip-enabled cards. This upgrade will help prevent skimming scams that steal benefits and cost taxpayers millions.

Proud to support this commonsense legislation as it advances to the full House for consideration.
