Prevention Week at Clayton Middle School was filled with creativity, connection, and positive messages! 🌱💛

Students created posters and prevention goodie bags to spread awareness about opioids. They also took part in Plant Your Promise, where Students shared their reasons for remaining drug-free and planted wildflowers as a symbol of their commitment. 🌼

We loved seeing students come together to learn, share their voices, and make positive choices for themselves and their community!

What a meaningful day of remembrance, connection, and hope. 💜🕯️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Overdose Awareness Day 2026. Your presence helped create a space where we could remember those we’ve lost, honor the experiences of those affected by overdose, and come together as a community to support one another.

We’re so grateful to our partners, Reno-Sparks Indian Colony, Quest Counseling, NRAP, and CrossRoads for helping bring this event to life and for standing with our community in the work to end stigma and raise awareness.

Thank you to our food sponsor, The Life Change Center, for providing catering from Famous Dave's BBQ.

And to Daniel Fred & our speakers, thank you for sharing your voices and your stories. We also wanted to thank Vanessa Williams and Joseph Cano for leading grounding techniques.

Events like this remind us that awareness is more than a conversation. It’s about remembering, supporting, and continuing to show up for one another. 💜

There are so many ways to build a healthy, fulfilling life.

Getting outside, exercising, spending time with people who support us, and learning healthy ways to work through our emotions can all help us feel connected and supported.

Finding positive activities and healthy habits gives us more ways to spend our time and make choices that support our well-being.

Let’s continue building healthier communities together.

💙 Welcome to JTNN, Lizeth!

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of our team! We’re looking forward to having Lizeth contribute to our work and connect with the Northern Nevada community.

Lizeth has recently graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Master of Social Work. Through her education and experiences, she's developed a strong interest in prevention, research, and community-based work, particularly supporting youth and families.

She is excited to join the JTNN team and to continue building her skills in prevention while contributing to work that supports healthier and safer communities across Northern Nevada. She is also interested in continuing her education in the future and hopes to pursue a PhD in Social Work, with the goal of combining research, education, and community-based practice.

My fun fact about Lizeth is that she's part of a book club! She loves getting together with friends to read, talking about their latest book, and spending time together.

We’re so happy to have you on the team, Lizeth! 🎉

The people and behaviors around us can influence the choices we make.

Healthy role modeling, positive relationships, and healthy behaviors can help young people make informed decisions and support a healthier future.

🎉 Help us welcome Jennifer Mascarua to the JTNN team! 💙

Jennifer recently graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science. Before joining JTNN, she worked with Dean's Future Scholars, where she supported youth and built meaningful relationships. That experience helped Jennifer discover her passion for supporting children, youth, and families.

Jennifer aspires to become a social worker and is excited to continue learning, growing her skills, and finding ways to make a positive difference in our community.

🌟 A fun fact about Jennifer: She is a first-generation Mexican American! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

We are excited to see Jennifer bring her passion to JTNN and look forward to seeing her work with our team and help make a difference in our community. Welcome, Jennifer! 🎉
