𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗢𝗥 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗗?

In honor of 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we’re tackling one of the great debates of our time:

𝗖𝗼𝗽𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝗻𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀. 𝗬𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗻𝗼?

For decades, the clean-shaven officer was pretty much the standard in American policing. Beards were often prohibited altogether, and grooming policies were built around a very traditional definition of a professional police appearance.

Times — and mustaches — have changed. 😂

Today, many law enforcement agencies allow officers to have beards and other facial hair, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔𝒏’𝒕 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒐𝒆𝒔. Grooming policies commonly include rules about things like:

🪒 Maximum beard length
✂️ Neat, trimmed, and professional appearance
🧔 Defined cheek and neckline areas
🚫 No unusual shapes, patterns, or styles
😷 Restrictions when facial hair interferes with required safety equipment, such as respirators

In other words: 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

But that got us wondering...

What would some of our officers look like if there were 𝗡𝗢 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹?

Naturally, we turned to AI. And naturally, we may have gotten a little carried away. 😂

You’re Not the Only One Hunting 👀

Hunters come to R***e looking for a successful season. Unfortunately, they may not be the only ones hunting.

Vehicles loaded with bows, optics, packs and other expensive equipment can be tempting targets for thieves. A few simple precautions can help keep your trip from ending on a bad note.

🔒 Don’t leave valuable hunting gear in your vehicle. Bring it into your hotel room or secure it at camp where it’s out of sight and not easily accessible.

🥾 Prepare before heading into the backcountry. Know where you’re going, stay hydrated, and tell someone your planned location and when you expect to return.

🌲 Take care of the country you came to enjoy. Follow fire restrictions and pack out everything you bring in.

🍻 Make the trip back safe, too. If the post-hunt celebration includes alcohol, designate a sober driver before the celebration begins.

• Keep a printed list of family, emergency, school/daycare, medical, and other important numbers.
• Choose two family meeting places—one near home and one outside your immediate neighborhood.
• Make sure kids know who their trusted contacts are and how to reach them.
•️ Keep basic directions or a paper map available rather than relying entirely on GPS.
• Have backup charging options—but plan as though charging the phone won't solve the problem.

• That’s a good start, but private doesn’t always mean protected.

Privacy settings can limit who sees your child’s posts, photos, and personal information—but those settings only work as well as the people your child allows inside.
