I was proud to join the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce and the community of City of Laguna Beach - Government in celebrating GW Contemporary’s one-year anniversary and ribbon-cutting ceremony!

Founder, Genevieve Williams, created this space to focus on bringing an international perspective of art to the coastal art community. This is a beautiful art gallery to visit and enjoy different types of artwork.

Congratulations GW Contemporary! I wish you continued success for years to come!

Protecting children should never be “too aggressive” for your elected officials.

I am proud to continue my efforts to protect the children of California by joining as an author of a bill to prohibit child marriage in the state.

I will keep you up-to-date as this bill moves forward in the legislative process.

Day 5 of my Young Legislators Program!

To wrap up my Young Legislators Program, we took a trip to the Newport Beach Civic Center to witness local government in action. We were joined by Mayor Lauren Kleiman, City Manager Seimone Jurjis and Deputy City Manager Ben Zbeda to share firsthand insights into the vital roles and responsibilities of local public servants.

After a week’s worth of preparation, our Young Legislators took all that they learned into practice and concluded the program with a Mock Legislature Session. Students had the opportunity to present their own bills and vote on proposed laws to experience the legislative process in real time.

What an incredible week spending time with our Youth! Thank you to those who participated and helped make this program a success!

I authored a bipartisan letter to our state and federal agencies this week demanding an investigation into the Ladera Ranch cancer cluster.

These families deserve answers, and I will not give up until we get them. More updates coming soon.

This morning, I joined my colleagues, Assemblymember Laurie Davies, Assemblymember Kate Sanchez, Senator Tony Strickland and State Senator Steven Choi in sending a joint letter to state and federal environmental and public health agencies requesting a thorough investigation into a cluster of pediatric cancer cases affecting children in the Ladera Ranch community.

The families of Ladera Ranch deserve a thorough investigation and real answers.

Please see the letter attached.
