AD11 National Night Out (8/4/26)

08/05/2026

AD11 National Night Out in August 2026 was a success! Thank you to everyone who joined us, enjoyed some pizza, checked out Touro University’s Mobile Diabetes Education Center, and connected with our state and local resource providers!

Solano County law enforcement agencies hold National Night Out celebrations in the fall, and we will be out again on Oct. 6. See you then!

🎉 Congratulations to our 2026 Summer Interns! 🎉

Today, we proudly celebrate three outstanding young leaders who have successfully completed their summer internship with Assemblymember Lori D. Wilson’s Assembly District 11 Office.

Please join us in congratulating:

🎓 Nia Flood – Sophomore, Howard University

Advanced Air Mobility uses a new type of aircraft known as “electric vertical take-off and landing,” or “eVTOLs,” and eVTOL aircraft can carry cargo or people. Current designs commonly hold four to six passengers and are expected to have a range of up to 100 miles.

My bill, AB 431, would include Advanced Air Mobility in California’s transportation plan starting in 2027 and establish a statewide working group to facilitate ongoing collaboration when it comes to development and implementation.

Although the Federal Aviation Administration has the overarching authority over all airspace in the U.S., this bill would allow California a key role in providing guidance to local governments, raising public awareness, and integrating necessary infrastructure.

Today, I turn 50. I am exceedingly grateful for my colleagues in the California Legislature, some of whom took time out of their busy schedules to wish me a happy birthday in video form. Thank you to Asm Anamarie Avila Farias and Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen as well as their staff for putting this together!

AB 1731, the California Healthy Food Procurement Fund Program, would help address critical gaps in California’s food system by supporting both farm viability and access to healthy school foods.

California is rapidly losing farms. Between 2017 and 2022, more than 7,000 small to mid-sized California farms went out of business due to soaring production costs and shrinking market opportunities.

Simultaneously, California schools serve roughly 5 million meals daily and must shift away from ultra-processed foods. But, they are constrained by tight budgets and limited access to transparent, regional supply chains for healthy, locally sourced products.

AB 1731 establishes a targeted procurement fund and approved vendor system to connect California schools with local farmers, enabling the purchase of fresh, minimally processed, climate-smart foods without increasing cost or administrative burden.
