My new bill, AB 40, ensures that no large-scale coal terminal is approved in our state without a full environmental review based on the actual project and the most current science. Fútbol has shaped my life and my family’s, and I couldn’t be more excited to have the world’s game right in our backyard. From the Australian Socceroos setting up camp in Alameda, to matches played across the Bay, to fans traveling from every corner of the globe, California is hosting the world.

This is teamwork at its finest. And teamwork like this is California at its best: welcoming, diverse, world-class, and proud. 🌉

My district raised Justin Jones. Oakland’s spirit of resistance lives in him. Proud to stand with him in Sacramento and say that we will not go back to the Confederate era, where Black voters were erased and neglected. The Voting Rights Act was written in the blood of our civil rights movement leaders. Congress must restore it.
