This week we celebrate the Stars and Stripes, a powerful symbol of our shared history, unity, and freedom.

“This flag, which we honor and under which we serve, is the emblem of our unity, our power, our thought and purpose as a nation.”
- President Woodrow Wilson, 1917

Let’s show our pride!

Fly the flag high, teach your kids what it stands for, and remember the sacrifices made to keep it flying.

My Team had the pleasure of connecting with the children and families of Oakdale at the Second Annual Little Scientists: Ice Cream and Summer Reading Kickoff event sponsored by the Friends of the Oakdale Library and The Oakdale Center for Human Services at the Oakdale Library.

It was wonderful to see so many young minds engaged in hands-on learning as they discovered how to make ice cream from simple ingredients. Activities like this not only teach children where their food comes from and how it is produced, but also spark curiosity about science and the world around them. Pairing this with the summer reading kickoff beautifully reinforces the importance of literacy, showing kids that learning can be both fun and delicious while encouraging them to keep reading throughout the summer.

I would like to extend my thanks to the Oakdale Library, the Friends of the Oakdale Library, and The Oakdale Center for Human Services, for their unwavering dedication to serving the communities of Oakdale and for putting on such a fun and educational event.

Congratulations to Barnes & Noble on the Grand Opening of their new Turlock location! Our district team was proud to be on site for the big day!

This beautiful new store is more than just a retail space, it’s a vibrant hub for the community that will spark imagination, foster learning, and bring people together through the power of books.

It's great to see this investment in Turlock that supports literacy, local jobs, and small business growth in our region. In a time when we need strong community anchors more than ever, places like this remind us of the importance of education, culture, and shared experiences.

A special thank you to the Barnes & Noble team, local leaders, and everyone who helped make this opening possible. I encourage all local residents, families, students, and book lovers of all ages, to stop by, explore the shelves, grab a coffee, and discover your next favorite story. Here’s to many years of success in Turlock!

On this D-Day anniversary, we remember the courage of the Allied heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.

Their bravery and sacrifice turned the tide of WWII and secured our freedom. We will never forget.

Community members, local leaders, and dedicated board members gathered to honor a full century of history, resilience, and community spirit in one of Northern California’s earliest subdivisions.

Nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills, River Pines has always stood out for its stunning natural beauty, its deep connection to the Cosumnes River and surrounding pine forests, and the strong sense of neighborly pride that defines it.

We celebrated the generations of residents, volunteers, and leaders who have worked so hard to preserve this special place while building opportunities for recreation, education, and civic life.

A special thank you goes to the River Pines Recreation Association (RPRA) and all its hardworking volunteers, your commitment to strengthening community bonds and delivering meaningful events and projects is truly inspiring.

Our team was pleased to present a Senate Certificate of Recognition on this important milestone. What a beautiful day iC Amador County.
