Free rides this weekend! 🚌🚋

Utah Transit Authority - UTA is going Zero Fare systemwide this Friday through Sunday, September 18-20, while they roll out upgrades to the fares system. Hop on a bus or train for free from the start of service Friday morning through the end of service Sunday night!

The upgrades set the stage for smarter, easier transit down the road, including:
✅ Manage your FAREPAY Card online or at ticket vending machines
✅ Fare capping so frequent riders save more the more they ride
✅ Extra security for your FAREPAY balance with an online account

Project Update: Upper Mill Creek Canyon Road Improvements

The timeline for the Upper Mill Creek Canyon Road Improvements Project has been extended into 2027 due to unfavorable site conditions , including encountering poor soils, additional drainage work, and adverse weather conditions.

We know this canyon matters to the people who use it, and we don't take an extension like this lightly. All project partners are committed to seeing this project through as quickly as possible while maintaining the highest work product possible.

The upper canyon road will still reopen this winter for non-motorized winter recreation.

🍂 Labor Day weekend is a good reminder: your sprinkler schedule needs to change with the season.

Temperatures are dropping, days are shorter, and your lawn is no longer losing moisture at the same rate it was in July. Leaving your irrigation schedule unchanged from peak summer can waste thousands of gallons a month. Take a few minutes this weekend to scale back your watering days and run times.

Where's Economic Development? Swipe to the end to see the reveal!

Salt Lake County contributes property tax increment to this major project area, where remediation is on track to put 770 acres back into reuse for industrial and manufacturing buildings.

Answer: The Utah Inland Port Authority is almost done with its first phase of remediation for the Crossroads Port (formerly the North Temple Landfill). Putting this property back into commercial use meets the goals of a brownfields clean up and helps the Port Authority eventually recruit more advanced manufacturing to Salt Lake County.
