Early Intervention, Early Head Start, Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships Many services are available to the public.

The Early Intervention program provides support to infants and children under three years of age who have developmental delays or disabilities and their families through a wide range of available services tailored to meet their individual needs. Early Intervention aims to reduce the need for long-term intervention or support throughout the child’s school years by eliminating or moderating the effe

cts of the delays or disabilities as early as possible. Early Head Start is a federal program that provides comprehensive education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families. The DDI VANTAGE Early Head Start program offers weekly 90 minute home visits that focus on family, parenting, and child development goals. These goals are set by the family with the assistance of a Family Specialist. DDI Vantage Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships has partnered with six child care centers in Salt Lake and Tooele county to provide high-quality child care and education to low-income infants and toddlers and their families. Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships works with child care teachers and parents to support your child’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development to ensure they are ready for school. Early Head Start provides educational activities, medical and dental referral services, nutritious meals, and self-reliance services for the entire family.

May is Speech & Hearing Month, a time to celebrate how young children learn to communicate. In Early Intervention, communication is supported by a whole team—including Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Early Interventionists—who work together to build language during everyday routines.
