From Stone Oak to the national stage! 🏆

We are incredibly proud of former Stone Oak student Chris Chalhoub, who was recognized by the NEISD Board of Trustees for his outstanding achievements in the Spanish Spelling Bee!

As a fifth grader at Stone Oak, Chris earned the title of Region 20 Spanish Spelling Bee Champion before advancing to earn eighth place at state and an impressive seventh place nationally.

Chris is now a sixth grader at Lopez Middle School, but we’ll always be proud to call him one of our own. Congratulations, Chris! 👏

Greetings, wanderers! A tale from the halls of GT awaits...

Why simply study Greek and Latin roots when you can forge them into spells and take them on an adventure?

Our 5th-grade GT students entered the Trials of the Lexicon, first using their knowledge of Greek and Latin roots to create their own spells. Then, in their fellowships, they set out on an adventure where they faced fantasy challenges, defended the meaning behind their spells, and figured out how to use them to solve each problem.

After all, there isn't always one root to rule them all.

Not all those who wander are lost... sometimes they're just searching for the right root.
