NEISD is closely monitoring weather forecasts and local conditions. 🚌🌧️

Due to the potential for flooding and possible unexpected road closures, our school bus drivers will exercise extra caution to ensure student safety. This may result in delays or adjusted routes. The safety and well-being of our community remain our highest priority.

We appreciate your patience and encourage everyone to use caution when traveling in affected areas. Please check the NEISD website at neisd.net and follow social media channels regularly for real-time announcements and updates.

Our first graders had a crunch-tastic time celebrating Apple Day on Friday! We explored the physical properties of apples through hands-on exploration and fun activities. Our students were able to learn, observe, and make discoveries while having a great time! We love making learning exciting and meaningful! ❤️🍎

In preparation for our upcoming author visit from Matthew McElligott, students kicked off the week by listening to the first few chapters of Benjamin Franklinstein Lives!

To connect the story to learning in science, students then explored electric currents. They put their problem-solving skills to the test by completing Circuit Maze puzzles and even generated electricity with a potato battery! Bringing a key concept from the book straight into the classroom!

We are thrilled to welcome Mr. McElligott soon and continue inspiring our young readers and scientists.
