In July, we joined PRC, San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and the National AIDS Memorial at the Commonwealth Club to honor Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and her decades of HIV/AIDS advocacy.

The day brought together pioneers of San Francisco's early AIDS response and the leaders carrying the work forward now with music, dance, and spoken word tracing the story from the earliest years of the epidemic to today. Speaker Emerita Pelosi shared what it took to fight stigma in those first years, down to sharing a bowl of guacamole to show that HIV can't spread through casual contact.

SFCHC Celebrates National Health Center Week

Being truly community-driven is the operating principle behind every program we run, from TransThrive to our broader clinical and social services, all designed to meet people where they are, without judgment, and without barriers. This year, National Health Center Week runs August 2–8, 2026, marking 60 years since community health centers were born out of the civil rights movements of the 1960s. The movement created a national framework to support a model for community-based health care—health care that goes to where people are, looks like the people it serves, and addresses the real conditions of their lives. We are proud to embody community-driven and -led health care.

This week, we're also celebrating the strength of partnership. We're grateful to the San Francisco Community Clinic Consortium for the tireless work they do supporting community clinics across our city, helping ensure that quality, affordable care remains within reach for every San Franciscan, regardless of circumstances.

Saturday, June 27 — Don't miss a historic moment: the API LGBTQ Pride Stage takes the Main Stage at Civic Center for the first time in its 25-year history (12–6PM)! Catch the debut "Pulse of Pride" Dance Group Competition, A&PI celebrities, rising artists, DJs, and performers.

Sunday, June 28 — March with us or catch us in the parade! Join SFCHC and TRANS THRIVE staff, clients, and friends at our SF Pride Parade Contingent & Float down Market Street from Embarcadero to Civic Center (10AM–2PM). For contingent location details, contact your folks at the agency!

Today, the HIV/AIDS Provider Network (HAPN) applauded Mayor Daniel Lurie, the Board of Supervisors, and SFDPH Director Dan Tsai for restoring critical cuts to HIV care and prevention services in San Francisco's 2026-2028 budget.
