California Mid State Fair goers 🎟️🎤🎡- enjoy the show, but plan before you go. Remember these safe driving tips so we can all celebrate safely together.

Look Out For One Another:
• Allow extra time to get places. The Mid-State Fair will bring heavy traffic to the area, especially over the weekends.
• Keep an eye out for more people walking and outdoor activities.
• Be extra careful at night, when it is harder to see people.

Remember:
• Plan your route ahead of time
• Avoid driving after dark
• Always buckle up
• Watch for kids, older adults, and other people walking
• Think before you drink. Designate a sober driver or call a rideshare.

Be Aware Of:
• People walking or gathering near curbs and streets
• Distractions — especially music and lights
• Trucks and trailers carrying animals

It's getting hot out there SLO County🥵 Certain medications, including some used for depression and mental health conditions, can make it harder for your body to cool down in hot weather. If you take medications for depression, anxiety, psychosis, or other mental health conditions, you may be at higher risk for heat-related illness. Follow these tips to stay cool:

💦Drink water frequently — do not wait until thirsty
💠Stay in air-conditioned spaces during peak heat; locate cooling centers nearby
👗Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing
🚿Take cool showers
🤝Have someone check on you regularly if you live alone
😰Know the warning signs: heavy sweating that suddenly stops, confusion, muscle cramps, dizziness, nausea
🚑Seek medical attention immediately if symptoms develop
⚠️Do not stop your medication without talking to a doctor first. ⚠️
