🏆 NATIONAL RECOGNITION: NMERB’s Renee Garcia Wins "Communicator of the Year"

We are proud to announce that Renee Garcia, Director of Communications and Outreach at the New Mexico Educational Retirement Board, has been awarded the 2026 Public Pension Communicator of the Year by the National Conference on Public Employee Retirement Systems (NCPERS).

Competing in the $10–$50 billion Assets Under Management (AUM) category, Garcia was recognized for her exceptional leadership in modernizing member education and navigating complex communication challenges during the agency’s recent system overhaul.

"Renee’s commitment to transparency and member-centric communication has set a national benchmark for public pension funds," noted the award committee.
