The official page for Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site, located in Sedalia, Mo. of Natural Resources for the benefit of all Missourians.

John Homer Bothwell took 31 years to complete his 31-room castle on the hill. His beloved Lodge illustrates many cultural and architectural changes of the period from 1897 through 1928. This imposing structure has become a landmark in Pettis County along Highway 65. Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site includes recreational facilities and historic grounds. Visitors can tour the lodge and enjoy the natural beauty of Stonyridge Farm while hiking the Stonyridge Trail. A picnic area with tables, a shelter, and playground equipment is the perfect location for a quiet picnic lunch or a gathering place for friends and family. The Radiant Trail provides challenging hiking or mountain biking for outdoor enthusiasts. The state park system is composed of 92 parks and historic sites managed by the Dept. Information for the upcoming managed deer hunts.

To help protect the health of parks, as well as the safety of our visitors, several Missouri state parks will be temporarily closed for scheduled managed deer hunts.

These controlled hunts are an important conservation tool that help prevent overpopulation, reduce damage to natural habitats and maintain a balanced ecosystem within the parks. We have worked closely with Missouri Dept. of Conservation to plan and coordinate these hunts.

Please note the following parks will be closed to the public during these dates:

- Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park - Nov. 6-8.
- Crowder State Park - Dec. 4-6.
- Cuivre River State Park - Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
- K**b Noster State Park - Dec. 4-5.
- Lake of the Ozarks State Park - Dec. 5-7.
- Long Branch State Park - Nov. 7-10.
- Mark Twain State Park - Nov. 7-8.
- Pomme de Terre State Park - Nov. 6-8.
- Robertsville State Park - Nov. 7-8.
- Stockton State Park - Nov. 5-8.
