John Homer Bothwell took 31 years to complete his 31-room castle on the hill. His beloved Lodge illustrates many cultural and architectural changes of the period from 1897 through 1928. This imposing structure has become a landmark in Pettis County along Highway 65. Bothwell Lodge State Historic Site includes recreational facilities and historic grounds. Visitors can tour the lodge and enjoy the n

atural beauty of Stonyridge Farm while hiking the Stonyridge Trail. A picnic area with tables, a shelter, and playground equipment is the perfect location for a quiet picnic lunch or a gathering place for friends and family. The Radiant Trail provides challenging hiking or mountain biking for outdoor enthusiasts. The state park system is composed of 92 parks and historic sites managed by the Dept. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Tyler Keim, assistant superintendent at Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park, for being named State Team Member of the Month! Faced with rising floodwaters threatening more than 200 campers, Tyler’s calm leadership, intimate knowledge of the park's terrain and swift actions helped guide every camper safely to higher ground.
