Here is an update on a few deployments of resources that we have sent over the past few days.
We have a handcrew leaving today, 07/28/26, to help with the Widemouth 2 fire in central Utah.
We also have a brush truck in Oregon assisting with fire efforts in that state.
We also have one of our team in Boise assisting with fire efforts as a Task Force Leader trainee.
This fire season continues to be a busy one for all of us here at the Utah County Fire Department both at home and abroad.

Please continue to be fire smart and check this website for current fire restrictions:

Firefighters were able to gain 100% containment of the up American Fork Canyon. The fire ended at approximately 2 acres. There may still be some visible smoke in the area, as one crew remains on scene to work any remaining hotspots in the interior.

Tibble Fork Reservoir and the parking lot are now open. Timpooneke Campground and trailhead remain closed until mid-day tomorrow, Sunday, July 12th. The Timpooneke Road (Forest Service Road #056) is closed to through traffic, at the Alpine Loop Junction and will remain closed until Sunday night, July 12th. This is due to the equipment and firefighters still working in the area, not for any fire threat. After mid-day tomorrow, July 12th individuals with Timpooenke campground reservations will be allowed into their sites.

Traffic is flowing freely up American Fork Canyon, Alpine Loop, and the road to Tibble Fork and Silver Lake flats. There is no impact to Timpanogos Cave or the Timp trail.

Thank you to the public for avoiding the area so firefighters could work at Timpooneke and at Tibble Fork. And especially thanks to the cooperation of federal partners, state, and local resources that helped with suppression efforts. We appreciate the support protecting our beautiful Canyon
