This is your chance to explore an INHF protected property before it’s open to the public. Volunteers are needed tomorrow, Wednesday 5/27, to remove invasive brush at Arnolds Park Nature Area, 23660 Rohr St., Arnolds Park, IA. Parking will be on the southeast corner at 195th St. and 240th Ave. look for INHF signs. Instructions will be provided onsite. Bring a water bottle; wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt, and close-toed shoes; bring sunscreen and bug spray. Contact Kayleen Leetch (515-288-1846, ext. 3) for more info and to sign up!

Volunteers are needed at the Dickinson County Courthouse in Spirit Lake at noon on Saturday 5/23, and at Florence Park in Milford at 1:00 p.m., to help place flags for the Memorial Day weekend. 🇺🇸

The weather was gorgeous, but the company was even better! Last week, we celebrated our Lucia Wallace 3rd Grade Pen Pal Meet and Greet at the fairgrounds. ☀️✨

From nature scavenger hunts to games in the pavilion, it was a wonderful day of connection. The best part? Visiting the one-room schoolhouse, which brought back great memories for a few of our RSVP volunteers who actually attended one! 🏫

We are always looking for new faces to join the fun. If you are over the age of 55 and want to learn more about becoming a Kossuth County Pen Pal, let's connect!

Thank you Good Neighbor Fund for your generous contribution to our Dickinson County RSVP Literacy Partners program! We once again this year were able to provide 2 new Scholastic books to all area 1st graders at Lake Park, Terril, Spirit Lake, and Okoboji, and books to all 2nd graders at Spirit Lake! We appreciate your support and those who donate to the Good Neighbor Fund! Thank you also to our volunteers who helped to label and sort all the books and to those who read to our 1st grade classes! Together we are bringing the joy of reading to our area students!

Thank you to Emmetsburg Catholic School and Ms. Thayer for partnering with us to make the Pen Pal Program such a huge success! Many thanks to our RSVP pen pals for volunteering your time and creating lasting memories. The smiles say it all!

3rd grade students were able to meet their pen pals today! This is a project coordinated through RSVP where students write and exchange letters throughout the semester. It is such a wonderful project !
