Congrats to our Destination Imagination teams for an amazing showing at Global Finals in Kansas City, where they competed among more than 600 teams from 28 states and 11 countries!

🏆The Super Legendary Panthers (Team members: Eva Dominguez, Cam Miller, Cormac Schmidt, Hazel Kliber, Will Rippe, Hazel Nelson, Rylee Berlin) earned 7th place in the world for their Back to the 80’s Game Show which pitted one team from the 80’s against a team from the 2020’s in technology trivia. They went up against teams from across the U.S., Guatemala, Korea, China, Mexico, Turkey and more. They placed 3rd in the Instant Challenge where the team walks in to a room and is presented with a surprise challenge and they have 8 minutes to solve it using only provided materials.

🏆The Chickie Nuggies (Team members: Aili Peltier, Signe Peltier, Lillian Maatman, Ivy Perkins, Kelly Phan, Jasmine Fliegelman, Sarah Karger) competed at the middle school level in the fine arts team challenge called "Becoming Super", with a skit involving a radioactive potion creating a superhero spoon and fork battling over which is best for eating pasta; in the end the SPORK prevails! They also competed in the Instant Challenge where they had limited time to come up with a solution to a mystery challenge (placing 7th). Overall the team was thrilled to place 12th overall out of 51 teams in their category from across the globe!

This is what happens when students help co-design their own learning! 🎵📚💡High school students showcased interest-driven projects they created to earn STEM and Humanities credit, proving that meaningful learning happens when curiosity and self-direction leads the way. From exercise science and physical training, to studying Carl Gauss and the Gaussian Integral, to composing original music and albums, students were motivated to explore topics they genuinely cared about all while meeting academic goals.

1,100+ Spring Lake Park High School students, 40 courses, endless career possibilities ✅ With the courses spanning Business and Entrepreneurship, Health and Human Services, and Technology, Engineering and Design, students are discovering their interests through hands-on learning experiences that connect directly to life after high school. From pitching business ideas to community professionals and earning healthcare certifications to building homes and designing with robotics and 3D printers, students are learning by doing.

Pathways courses continue to grow and evolve to meet student interests and workforce needs. This year, courses like Personal Finance and Money Management, Nursing Assistant, Construction Trades, Teacher Education and Mechatronics gave students opportunities to earn college credit, industry certifications and valuable career experience while still in high school. Students also benefit from internships, service learning, mock interviews and career planning support that help prepare them for future success — whether in college, the workforce or both.
