At Crown Center, we're proud to be part of the Meals on Wheels America network, providing nutritious kosher meals and meaningful connections to older adults in our community. As part of a nationwide satellite media tour, Chief Advocacy Officer Josh Protas appeared on KMOV-TV to discuss the importance of strengthening funding for the Older Americans Act Nutrition Program.

The Older Americans Act has helped older adults access nutritious meals and supportive services for more than 60 years. As the need continues to grow, sustained federal investment is essential to ensure seniors can remain healthy, independent, and connected to their communities. We want to give a shout out to the University City Public Library for its ongoing partnership with Crown Center. Through visits from the Book Bike and monthly book deliveries, our residents have convenient access to a wide variety of reading materials that support lifelong learning, enrichment, and enjoyment. We are grateful for the library's commitment to making these resources accessible to our community.

This week, the Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging at WashU presented background information on ageism, its impact, and how we can address it. Residents participated in an intergenerational discussion with university students and staff as they considered: What is ageism? How does it hurt? How can we combat it?

Our annual Ice Cream Truck Social, generously sponsored by the Wallach family, returned for its second year, and has quickly become a resident favorite. Residents enjoyed treats from the Cool Times Ice Cream Truck while spending the afternoon coloring, and visiting with neighbors. Cindy Wallach's mother, Anita, shared her artwork, inspiring residents to join in the creativity.
