🚒 TRUCK COMPANY OPERATIONS I – WE'RE BRINGING IT BACK! 🚒

The Monroe County Office of Emergency Management is pleased to announce that Truck Company Operations I is back on the schedule at the Monroe County Public Safety Center!

This course was originally scheduled earlier this year but unfortunately had to be canceled. We are excited to offer it again and are currently accepting registrations for the new dates!

📅 Dates: October 25 & November 1, 2026
⏰ Time: 0800–1630
📍 Location: Monroe County Public Safety Center
100 Gypsum Road, Stroudsburg, PA 18360
⏱️ Course Length: 16 Hours

This course introduces firefighters to the basic duties of a truck company, including:

🔹 Hand and power tool operations
🔹 Search and rescue
🔹 Ventilation
🔹 Truck company support of engine company operations

Prerequisites: Participants must be 18 years of age or older and have completed Interior Firefighter (ELIF), Bucks Basic Academy, or Firefighter I.

💲 Cost: $30.00 for out-of-county students
📅 Registration Deadline: October 21, 2026

The Monroe County Office of Emergency Management is pleased to announce MGT-345: Disaster Management for Electric Power Systems, offered in conjunction with DHS/FEMA, Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), and the National Emergency Response and Recovery Training Center (NERRTC).

This two-day course focuses on preparing for, responding to, and recovering from natural, human-caused, and technological disasters affecting electric power facilities and systems. Participants will also learn about the important interdependencies between electric power and other critical infrastructure sectors.

⚡ Topics include:
• Overview of Electric Power Systems
• Threats to Electric Power Facilities and Systems
• Disaster Preparedness and Planning
• Disaster Prevention, Protection, Mitigation, Response & Recovery

👥 Who should attend? Emergency Management, Public Works, utility and power providers, water authorities, healthcare and hospital management, public health officials, emergency services personnel, emergency planners, city planners, and private-sector stakeholders.

⚠️ TEEX Student ID Required: Participants must complete their enrollment through the TEEX Student Portal for MGT-345. Participants are also encouraged to have completed IS-100PWb, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800.

🚒 MONROE COUNTY 4th ANNUAL JUNIOR FIREFIGHTER WEEKEND 🚒

The Monroe County Office of Emergency Management is excited to announce our Junior Firefighter Weekend, coming this October to the Monroe County Public Safety Center!

📅 October 10 & 11, 2026
⏰ 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM both days
📍 Monroe County Public Safety Center
100 Gypsum Road, Stroudsburg, PA 18360
💲 Cost: FREE

This 16-hour, hands-on training weekend is designed for junior firefighters ages 14 and older who are members of a fire department. The program will be developed and instructed by a consortium of Monroe County chiefs and line officers, with training conducted in accordance with Pennsylvania Junior Firefighter laws.

🔥 Training topics will include water supply, engine company operations, truck company duties, SCBA activities, and other practical fire service skills.

Full turnout gear and SCBA are required. Each participant must submit a completed registration form with their Fire Chief's consent.

🚨 ICS-300 & ICS-400 TRAINING – NOVEMBER 2026 🚨

The Monroe County Office of Emergency Management is pleased to announce that we will be hosting ICS-300 and ICS-400 training this November at the Monroe County Public Safety Center.

📅 ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents
November 9, 10 & 11, 2026
⏰ 0800–1630 Hours

📅 ICS-400: Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff
November 12 & 13, 2026
⏰ 0800–1630 Hours

These courses are designed for mid- to upper-level management and supervisory personnel who may be responsible for managing expanding or complex incidents. The training is especially valuable for personnel who may serve in command or general staff positions or as part of a Unified Command during major incidents and planned events.

⚠️ IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION

If you have not already done so, you will need to create a Buck’s Campus Marketplace account. You must also add a relationship to Monroe County Office of Emergency Management so we can properly register you for the course and ensure your training certificate is processed.
