The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program is returning for the 2026 season!

Starting June 8, eligible older adults can apply for vouchers in person at select locations. With these vouchers, you can purchase fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables at participating farmers' markets.

Included with this announcement are the following documents:
🥦Program application
🌽Proxy form (to be used if you are sending someone in your place)
🍓Program guidelines
🫑List of participating farmers' markets and their locations
🍑Locations in the community where you can collect vouchers.

🐾We had a wonderful visit at the Mountain Center from Zeus, a service animal who quickly became a hit with everyone!
Our seniors enjoyed spending time with Zeus and learning more alongside his trainer. Thank you for bringing so many smiles and brightening everyone's day!

Recognize the nine signs of high blood pressure:
1. Early-morning headaches
2. Dizziness or light-headedness
3. Blurred vision or eye strain
4. Pounding sensation in your ears, neck, or chest
5. Shortness of breath
6. Nosebleeds
7. Fatigue or confusion
8. Irregular heartbeat (palpitations)
9. Tinnitus

Morning headaches? Blurred vision? Feeling tired or dizzy? These could be more than everyday annoyances--they might be subtle signs of high blood pressure. Find out what to look for and when to talk to your doctor

☀️Extreme heat is expected over the next several days, with the first of three unseasonably hot days beginning today.
Please take precautions during the heat:
Stay hydrated 💧
Limit time outdoors during peak afternoon hours 🌞
Stay in air-conditioned spaces when possible ❄️
Check on older adults, neighbors, and those most vulnerable to heat-related illness 🧓👵🏠

🥵🌤️ The first of 3 unseasonably hot days begins today, with temperatures reaching into the low to mid 90s in many areas this afternoon. Record highs will be challenged through Wednesday, and even some monthly records for May challenged on Tuesday. Stay cool out there!
