🎶 One Week Away!

Join us for a Free BookHouse Concert featuring Spencer & Nancy Reed on Friday, June 26!

Date: Friday, June 26
Doors Open: 6:30 PM
Concert Starts: 7:00 PM
Community Room, Hughes Library, Stroudsburg

Spencer & Nancy Reed have been performing jazz together for more than 40 years. Their music features guitar, bass, and great vocal harmonies inspired by classic jazz artists.

The concert is free to attend. Refreshments will be available for a small cost, and donations are appreciated. Bring a friend and enjoy a fun evening of live jazz!

Gratitude & Grounding: A Guided Meditation with Luz
Saturday, June 20th, 2pm-3pm – Community Room

In this one-hour weekend session, Luz will guide you through a calming gratitude meditation along with breathing and grounding techniques to help you relax and reconnect as we move into June. You may enjoy the session seated on a chair or on the floor. Optional, but you’re encouraged to bring a yoga mat or chair cushion, a blanket, and yoga blocks and straps. Registration requested but walk-ins welcome. Call 570-421-0800 ext. 317.

Thank you to the NEPA Philharmonic and Community Foundation of Monroe County for bringing "Once Upon an Orchestra" to our library. We loved learning about major and minor keys through the sounds of the violin and keyboard and had a lot of fun too!

In Celebration of Pride Month, The Words & Film Sunday Matinee continues with a free presentation of a film about U.K. gay activists work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984 on Sunday June 28th at 2:00 PM

The BookHouse@EMPL continues with a concert featuring jazz artists Nancy Reed and Spencer Reed on Friday June 26th at 7 PM. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the performance will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Admission is free and open to the public. 📗Now Hiring: Circulation Clerk at the Library of the Smithfields 📗

Eastern Monroe Public Library is accepting applications for a part-time, permanent Circulation Clerk position at our Library of the Smithfields branch (East Stroudsburg)

The position is for 10-15 hours weekly, including evening and weekend hours.
Applicants must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or GED. Strong customer service and computer skills are required.
