Good afternoon. We hope you all have been enjoying this great weather. We know for a fact that some of you are doing some spring cleaning and we have been the recipients of a lot of great donations of building supplies, tools, home decor, and furniture. Keep it coming! This is how we make money to fund our mission of providing safe affordable housing solutions.

We will be open for shopping Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 10 - 4. We are pen for donations Tuesday - Saturday 9 - 3:30.

Please keep in mind that Topeka is having quite a lot of construction lately. Follow all posted speed limits. I too have accidentally slipped into a high rate of speed on the Kansas Avenue Bridge. The speed limit on that bridge is 35 mph (that's equivalent to 11.6 Leagues Per Hour). The bridge, and much of S. Kansas Avenue, is now considered a construction zone. So please take your time - we want everyone to be safe and I'm sure you all would like to avoid that ticket.

Finally, the only parking spaces in our parking lot have yellow lines on BOTH sides of your car. Please respect the loading zones, other businesses, and keep the alley clear.

Sorry the delay and the lack of captions - technical difficulties abounded

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who served and sacrificed for our country. As we gather with family, friends, and community, we remember that freedom is strengthened through compassion, service, and making sure everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and safety.

Today we remember. We honor. We continue the work of building a stronger community for all.

It’s Feel Good Friday because it’s almost the start of a three-day weekend (Yes- we are closed tomorrow), but also because our most special volunteer, Eddie is here today!

This is the face he and Mike make when the lighting table is almost completely empty because donation processing has been caught up by our great volunteers just in time for a restful weekend.

Want to join Mike and Eddie? Come volunteer with us!

Happy Last Day of School to everyone! Thank you teachers for all of your incredible work this year.

(Hey - teach! - If you find yourselves missing taking a chaotic and disorganized situation and creating organization and learning opportunities we could sure use your help at the ReStore.)

The Topeka Habitat ReStore will be open for shopping this week Thursday, and Friday from 10 -4.

Huh? Aren't you usually open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday? Yes we are, USUALLY. But it's Memorial Day Weekend and in order to get a break we are giving our ReStore staff Saturday off - which means that the ReStore is going to be closed on Saturday 5/23.

Once again, the ReStore will be CLOSED on Saturday 5/23.

We will be open Thursday and Friday from 10 - 4.

We will be CLOSED for shopping AND donations on this Saturday 5/23.

(I was told to mention that we were closed on Satuday "a thousand times". I don't think I'm up to that task.)

Your voice and ideas matter!

The City of Topeka Housing Services Division is inviting residents to help shape the future of housing and community development investments in Topeka through a new public survey connected to the City’s upcoming Housing Study update and federally required planning process.

Over the next five years, the City of Topeka is expected to receive approximately $12 million in federal funding – roughly $2.4 million annually – to support housing, neighborhood improvements, public services, and community development projects. City officials are asking residents to share their feedback on the greatest needs facing the community and how those funds should be prioritized.

"The feedback we receive from residents will help guide important decisions about housing and community development investments across Topeka,” said Carrie Higgins, Housing Services Division Director. “We encourage all community members to participate and help us better understand the needs and priorities of our neighborhoods.”

The survey asks residents to evaluate a variety of housing and community needs and rate the level of importance for each. Community input gathered through the survey will help inform the City’s strategic planning and future funding recommendations.
Residents can complete and return the survey online at: Topeka Community Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/topekaks2026
