🚨 Town of Townsend Reminder: Know Who You're Doing Business With! 🚨

As the weather warms up, we are seeing an increase in door-to-door solicitation and businesses seeking customers throughout Town.

The Town of Townsend would like to remind all residents that any business conducting business within Town limits—including soliciting services or products—is required to be licensed with the Town of Townsend.

Before engaging in conversations, signing contracts, or providing personal information, we encourage residents to ask whether the business is properly registered and licensed with the Town. This simple step helps protect our community and ensures businesses and contractors operating in Townsend are complying with local ordinances.

If you encounter individuals or businesses soliciting without a Town license, we ask that you report the activity to local authorities so they can verify compliance and, if necessary, request that the solicitors leave the area.

Our goal is to keep Townsend's neighborhoods safe, respectful, and compliant with all local regulations while supporting legitimate businesses that follow the rules.

Last night, the Town of Townsend proudly swore in our newly appointed Police Chief, Earl McCloskey.

Chief McCloskey has been a part of the Townsend Police Department since its very beginning, dedicating years of service, leadership, and commitment to both the department and our community.

Through the years, he has played an integral role in helping shape the department into what it is today.

We are incredibly proud of Chief McCloskey and grateful for his continued service to our town. Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved achievement! 👮‍♂️👏
