In the early evening of April 10, 2026, crews from Townsend Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedics , and Delaware State Police Aviation Section responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 5900 block of Summit Bridge Road.

All patients were treated on scene and transported to area hospitals by both ground and air, with additional support from B-26, B-1, and Trooper 4.

Thank you to all first responders for your professionalism, teamwork, and dedication to serving the community.

Earlier today, Station 26 was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Route 1 SB near Frederick Lodge. Crews arrived to find a dump truck fully involved. Members from Rescue Engine 26 and Tanker 26, with support from Citizens' Hose Company No. 1 Inc. of Smyrna, DE, quickly went to work and successfully extinguished the fire. 🚒🔥

Today, we mourn the loss of a Delaware State Trooper who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He gave his life protecting his fellow Delawareans, and our hearts are heavy for his family during this unimaginable time. We keep his loved ones, fellow troopers, and the entire law enforcement community in our thoughts and prayers as they grieve this profound loss.
