🚧 Stella Road repair work begins tomorrow.

Crews will begin repairs on Stella Road between Mann Avenue and Jessica Avenue from Sept. 15-18.

This section of Stella Road was part of last year’s voter-approved Prop 411 Collector Project, which improved Stella Road from Wilmot Road to Camino Seco. The roadway in this area has developed issues below the surface that are causing the pavement to fail.

Crews will work daily from 5:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Eastbound and westbound travel will remain open throughout the work.

We ask the community to please use caution when approaching a work zone; reduce your speed, watch for roadwork signs and crews working, leave extra space between you and the vehicle ahead, and avoid distractions.

🚧 CLOSURE REMINDER: Alvernon Way will be closed between Glenn St and Pima St from 6 p.m. Sept. 11 through 6 p.m. Sept. 12 for final paving at the Grant Rd intersection. Please plan ahead and use caution when driving through a construction zone.

All City of Tucson - Government offices, except for emergency services, will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day. Sun Tran, Sun Van, and Sun Link will observe their Sunday schedules.

Open House Events Next Week for Fairview Ave! 🚲🚶‍♂️🎉

The cityoftucson is planning improvements on Fairview Ave between Grant Rd and Wetmore Rd. This includes pavement rehab, sidewalks, accessibility improvements, lighting, enhanced street crossings, protected bike lanes and other safety improvements.

🚧 Overnight I-19 Lane Restrictions from the Arizona Department of Transportation

Drivers should plan for overnight lane restrictions on I-19 between Ajo Way and Valencia Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Expect:
• One lane in each direction
• 16-foot vehicle width restriction
• Reduced speed limit of 45 mph

Nighttime lane restrictions on Irvington Road at I-19 will continue through spring 2028, with a 25 mph speed limit.

Please slow down, merge safely, and allow extra travel time. 🚗⚠️

WEEKEND TRAFFIC ALERT: Beginning tonight at 7 p.m. the intersection of Alvernon Way and Fifth Street will fully close to allow crews to completely reconstruct the intersection as part of the Fifth/Sixth Street Improvement Project. The closure is scheduled to remain in place through 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 2026.
Crews will be working around the clock & access to businesses at all corners of the intersection will be maintained.
During the closure, Sun Tran bus stops will not be serviced along the following roadways:
Alvernon: All stops between Speedway & Broadway
Fifth: All stops between Country Club & Swan
Please follow posted speed limits, put your distractions away, and travel carefully through the area. Thank you for your patience as we make major improvements to this roadway.
