The future of clean energy is shining bright.

Recently, DCSEU Train Green participants successfully completed the EnergyScore Solar PV Ready-to-Work 5-Day Training, gaining hands-on experience and industry-recognized skills to support the growing solar workforce. From solar fundamentals to real-world applications, participants are building the knowledge needed to power a more sustainable future.

Congratulations to this dedicated group for investing in their careers and helping advance clean energy across the District.

Last week, we were so proud to celebrate the completion of energy efficiency upgrades at Victory Square Senior Apartments in Ward 7.
Together with partners, residents, and community leaders, we marked an important milestone in creating more energy-efficient homes for District seniors. Now the building has more efficient lighting, controls, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and water fixtures. These upgrades, 100% paid for by the Affordable Housing Retrofit Accelerator (AHRA) program, will go a long way in helping improve building performance while reducing energy costs and cutting emissions.

Residents of this 97-unit community will see $650 yearly savings on their electricity bills over the lifetime of this equipment. That’s approximately $9,600 over the next 15 years back into the pockets of each household that calls this building home.

Thank you to Victory Housing and the seniors of victory square for hosting! We appreciate everyone who joined us to commemorate this achievement and for supporting investments that make affordable housing more sustainable and resilient across the District. Check out the press release for more info.
