During extreme heat, your thermostat setting matters. Set your thermostat to the highest comfortable temperature, starting around 78°F when you’re home, and adjust it higher when you’re away or sleeping.

More affordable, energy-efficient housing is making an impact in the District.

We were proud to join Victory Housing as Ben Burdick, Managing Director of DCSEU, spoke about the power of partnerships in creating healthier, more sustainable homes for the DC residents of Victory Square Senior. These upgrades, 100% paid for by the Affordable Housing Retrofit Accelerator (AHRA) program, will go a long way in helping improve building performance while reducing energy costs and cutting emissions. Residents of this 97-unit community will see $650 yearly savings on their electricity bills over the lifetime of this equipment. That’s approximately $9,600 over the next 15 years back into the pockets of each household that calls this building home.

Together, we’re helping make energy efficiency more accessible while supporting comfortable, affordable communities for years to come.
