Yesterday morning the District’s largest solar canopy was unveiled on the grounds of the Children’s National Research & Innovation Campus (RIC), located on the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center campus. Today is the DCSEU's 10th Anniversary! Thanks to DC residents and businesses, since 2011, the DCSEU has generated $1.2 billion in lifetime energy cost savings. We have also invested $50 million in energy efficiency and renewable energy in low-income communities, and prevented 6.2 million tons in greenhouse gas emissions. Together, we’ve worked to build a brighter economic, environmental, and energy future for the District. #DCSEUTurns10

Since 2016 the DCSEU has served over 70 residents through the Workforce Development Program. 85% of externs who graduate from the program gain full time employment. To celebrate the DCSEU's 10th Anniversary, we've gathered a few stories and testimonials from former externs.

Before Andre was selected for the program, he had hopes of becoming an electrical technician. Through WFD Andre completed an externship at Greenscape. He has not only gained full-time employment but has been promoted to Team Lead. #DCSEUTurns10
