U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) had an honor to support and participate in the yesterday's Supporting Wounded Defenders of Ukraine Gala, organized by the People of Ukraine at the Army and Navy Club in Washington, D.C.

The reception, which took place on the Veteran's Day of America, signified the friendship and close ties between the two liberty-driven nations, American and Ukrainian. The U.S. veterans are in tune with and support Ukrainian soldiers, who now every moment sacrifice their bodies and souls for the freedom of Ukrainian nation.

U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) is thankful to its members, including defense industry companies, who participated and supported this important event aimed at creating opportunities for rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian heroes.

Yesterday, U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) President and CEO, Morgan Williams, participated in the Opening of THE MAKING OF THE NATIONAL HOLODOMOR MEMORIAL exhibition and fundraiser for the restoration of the Memorial at the Ukraine House.

This year's November marks the 90th solemn anniversary of the HOLODOMOR in Ukraine, the Famine-Genocide engineered and implemented by Stalin’s totalitarian regime in 1932-1933, when the USSR deliberately starved millions of Ukrainian farmers though the confiscation of wheat when impossible grain quotas could not be met.

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s 18th resupply mission (NG-18), under NASA’s Commercial Resupply Service-2 contract, berthed to the International Space Station (ISS) today after a November 7 launch from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport Pad 0A at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. NG-18 marks the third in a rapid series of civil, national security and commercial Northrop Grumman spacecraft launches this fall.

Northrop Grumman worked with NASA to ensure the Cygnus spacecraft completed its primary mission of delivering cargo, even though one of the two solar arrays did not deploy as planned. Cygnus, which launched aboard the company’s Antares rocket, carried approximately 8,265 pounds of supplies, equipment and experiments for the astronauts aboard the station.

On the photo, Northrop Grumman’s Antares rocket launched the S.S. Sally Ride Cygnus spacecraft November 7, 2022 from Wallops Island, Virginia for cargo delivery to crew aboard the International Space Station.

The Antares rocket consists of two stages. The main structure of the first stage was developed by the КБ Південне ім. М.К. Янгеля / Yuzhnoye SDO and manufactured by the SE "VO PMZ" in cooperation with the Ukrainian enterprises Hartron-ARKOS (Kharkiv), Київприлад (Kyiv), "Hartron-YUKOM" (Zaporizhia), LLC CAESAR TELEMETRY, RAPID (Chernihiv) and others by order of the Northrop Grumman Corporation.

This is the best example of cooperation between the US and Ukraine in aerospace so far!

U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) hosted an online briefing with Betsy Hafner, Deputy Assistant USTR for Russia and Eurasia, Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), to discuss the upcoming meeting of the United States-Ukraine Trade and Investment Council (TIC) in Washington. USUBC members brought short comments about what issues and concerns U.S. companies have they would like for USTR to consider raising during the upcoming TIC meeting and future investment opportunities/possibilities in Ukraine. We appreciate the open dialogue and constant communications between USTR and our members!

An outstanding performance of New Era Orchestra and Joshua Bell at The Kennedy Center last night, organized by Chopivsky Family Foundation and supported by members of U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) and Ukrainian-American community in DC. On October 12, 2022, the President of Ukraine has signed the Law "On Amendments to certain laws of Ukraine regarding employment of foreigners and stateless persons in Ukraine and provision of intermediary services in employment abroad" No. 2623-ІХ as of 21 September 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the "the Law").

The Law comes into force on the day, following the day of its publishing.

The Law aims to simplify the procedure of foreigners’ and stateless persons’ employment, to ensure equal employment opportunities for citizens of Ukraine and foreigners, to bring from the shadow labor relations with foreigners and stateless persons, as well as to improve legislation in this area.

USUBC member BGV Group Management Launches New Stone Crushing Plant In Zhytomyr Region

Hennadii Butkevych's investment group BGV Group Management launched a new plant in the Zhytomyr region. Granite Quarry LLC is one of Ukraine's most modern enterprises, specializing in the production of crushed stone products. The plant was completed and put into operation during the war, providing up to 200 jobs in the region.

The plant's official opening took place within First Recovery Forum: Zhytomyr Region, which was held on the territory of Granite Quarry LLC under Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure, the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Ukraine, and the Rise Ukraine coalition. The main focus of the international event was to discuss the extent of the region's destruction, priority reconstruction projects, involvement of partner countries, and reconstruction tools.
