🌳Ecological damage caused by wildfires has been underestimated and restoration efforts are not keeping up. More trees die after wildfires than previously thought!

One year after a wildfire burns in a forest, the U.S. Forest Service assesses the damage. What the agency finds at this one-year mark informs its post-fire restoration efforts, including how many trees foresters are required to plant to replace ones that died due to the fire. But according to a grow...

🥵🔥 Extreme heat across the Western U.S. is setting off a dangerous chain reaction. Record-breaking temperatures are fueling wildfires. This week in California fires are threatening over 36,000 structures under threat.

As fires spread rapidly through dry landscapes, the heatwave intensifies, worsening air quality and endangering public health. Wildlife and ecosystems are also in peril, with habitats destroyed and water supplies strained.

This escalating crisis highlights the urgent need for climate action to address the growing threat of extreme weather events.

Uncontrolled wildfires scorched thousands of acres Sunday in the mountain communities of San Bernardino County near Lake Arrowhead and in the Angeles National Forest north of Glendora.
