International Development Institute (IDI) concluded a four-day workshop on "Career Coaching to College Counseling" for high school students on Thursday, 1st October 2020. During this interactive workshop, participants learned about developing critical skills such as career vision, clarity, and other career readiness. On the last day of the program, Sandipa Thapa, our expert coach also talked to our participants' parents and explained to them the good and bad aspects of helicopter parenting and the importance of being the coach rather than the player in students' life.

Ms. Sandipa Thapa, our resource person, is a Certified Career & Leadership Coach. She has over 23 years of work experience as an entrepreneur, hospitality educator with a specialization in career and leadership coaching. She has been providing career & leadership coaching on one to one & workshops to multilateral organizations such as UNDP, World Bank Family Network, and Oxfam. Previously, she worked as a senior career consultant at George Washington University School of Business.
Ms. Thapa was awarded the "Most influential 50 Global Coaching leader 2016" by World Coaching Congress.

Day 3 was intense deep dive into Singapore School system and discussion on Thinking School Learning System, and Talk Less Learn More system in Singapore. Principal Ms. Bin Eng Tan elaborated on effective model of bottom up and top down school management leadership style. Lots of discussion around principles of learning, empowering teachers and preparing them, 1:1 computing etc. Participants thoroughly enjoyed entire session.
