30 years ago, America recognized Croatia’s independence

On this April 7th, we mark 30 years since the United States recognized Croatia. At the time, in 1992, during the Homeland War, when Croatia was defending its modern, democratic statehood, independence and territorial integrity, the U.S. recognition was greeted as a confirmation of a crucially important support. 30 years later, we are forging a steadfast strategic alliance.

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of the 64th United States Secretary of State, and the first woman to serve in that position, Mrs. Madeleine Albright.
On behalf of the Government of Croatia, we offer our deepest condolences to Mrs. Albright's family, friends, colleagues, and to the people of the United States.
She was as a true friend of Croatia and a great fighter for, and promoter of, peace, justice and truth, and will be remembered for her courage , diplomatic and democratic leadership, as well as for championing women's role in international politics.

Croatian-American cooperation additionally strengthened in the combat against illegal drug trade

With the aim of achieving/promoting common interests in the combat against illegal drug trade, the Memorandum on the agreement between the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, General Police Directorate and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration was signed today at the General Police Directorate.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior dr. sc. Davor Božinović sees the signing of the Memorandum as a strong confirmation and recognition of the work of the Croatian criminal police:
“After the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the Visa Waiver Program, the Memorandum is another result of intensive cooperation with our American partners as well as confirmation that the United States sees Croatia alongside other countries which meet the highest security standards.

The Memorandum determines the scope of tools, from technological to the exchange of information and forms of mutual support when conducting operations directed at the combating of drug smuggling, as well as close cooperation in criminal prosecution of committed criminal acts concerning drug crimes.

Croatian movie “Murina” at AFI Film Festival

We are pleased to announce “Murina” as the Croatian entry at this year’s AFI European Union Film Showcase.

Set on a beautiful Adriatic Sea island off the coast of Croatia, Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović's feature-length debut tells a timeless, elemental tale of youthful rebellion against oppressive family strictures, in the very modern guise of neo-noir patriarchal critique. Julija (Gracija Filipović) is a strong-willed teen wondering what else the world has to offer beyond her isolated life on the island, and ready to rebel against her domineering father Ante (Leon Lučev), who, even though he's clearly losing his grip on his business and his ability to command the respect of his daughter and wife Nela (Danica Curcic), remains formidably vicious. A visit from Ante's wealthy businessman friend Javier (Cliff Curtis), who also once romanced Nela, might offer the promise of a new beginning — separately — for each member of the family, but also strife and chaos for the others. In English, Croatian and Spanish with English subtitles.

Now in its 34th year, the AFI Showcase continues its tradition of bringing the best in European cinema to DC-area audiences. This year's selection includes 53 films from all 27 EU member States, with 11 Oscar® selections and 13 U.S. and North American premieres!

Opening Date: Saturday, December 11, 2021, including Q&A with filmmaker Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović

Like many, I’m hoping to vacation in Croatia by the end of this summer. Is there any indication when this may be possible for an American citizen living in Europe?
I, Ari Acuna will let you in and tell you a little about my home life.
Some of us value our international communities and friends along with all of our job opportunities.

My family in the south are those "White Supremacist Types", who coincidentally enough are also military, who think they're always right. Who think all immigrants are on drugs, are thieves and are homeless living on the streets and deserve to be put in their place, what ever that means. Oh and we all carry disease and trade our bodies for narcotics.

I do it on purpose. It meaning, I have every right to say that's not right.

I get reminded by them everyday to only speak English at home. Only American food at home.
Or how often i hear,
"Do I have to remind you you're just an immigrant from an immigrant family"
*A daily reminder im the foreigner, unlike them. The same but only just different.
Which doesn't make sense to me.

So let me say this, hell yeah im gonna argue and stand for everyone, including myself who won't or cant say anything. I don't rub education in anyones face. Nor politics.
I make sure sarcasm and my opinions as it should be along with incorrect grammar are heard and seen.

Professionalism; my ass.
For my fans and friends, arse.

-hold your breath While i finish my cigarette its a Benson&Hedges

**********************************************************
****** Share my story with colleagues and friends.
This isn't just my military family, again coincidentally enough, its everywhere.

(All my friends and fans)

**Read this as an announcement in the office, at work or in school for every migrant, emigrant and immigrant and anyone in between.

This is my home life. And everyone elses reality we are all facing today.

This is important to share, personally. Even though it may seem misspelled, or not correctly written, but this is what I have had to deal with and what I have been told that as an immigrant, from an immigrant family, needs to go through in order to understand my place in the home.
Our lives are less than perfect, fb alike.
Which is why I have shared my story with every major news station. National and International. And as many embassies and consulates as possible.
Im the stupid one for going to school.
So the message will be received as given.
Pretty stupid isn't it.

Problems only exist in silence.
Identifying and associating, working along side with a different culture or race of people and being ethnic is not a mental disability. Nor is it a medical issue. It the education that is missing.
**We kill ourselves working towards a livable healthier existence. But not killing us for a safer existence.
Sanctuary cities are supposed to be safe.
*Communion wine and bread still comes at a price
Hello Sir, Am Ssentongo Frank a citizen of Uganda, East Africa, my problem is that i would like to travel to Croatia, but i have tried all my best to find any embassy in Uganda that can help me to get the visa to Croatia but i have completely failed so am kindly requesting your office to guide me how i can acquire the visa, i will be very grateful if my request is positively considered.
May the goodness of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Mercy be your portion.

I lived in Connecticut, now SC, but, out of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania they have the Croatian fraternal union we have meetings we have picnics we carry-on the heritage we have bands, picnics, pig roasts, most of all life insurance and scholarships, and then they have a children’s nest where we do things for the kids, and the adult lodge, monthly or quarterly treasury meetings, and they send out a quarterly booklet for the kids written in half English and half croatian with puzzles and games, and the croatian newspaper Zajednicar, and most of all the Duquesne University Tamburitzan Dancers and Musicians ( tambura). My father was the president of lodge 616. Hrvatska Bratska Zajednica. TamFest ## in november 2-4. , soccer tournament, Museum, charity relief, scholarships, CFU 412-843-0380, http://croatianfraternalunion.org, We were from Connecticut you don’t need to live in Pennsylvania to belong. PS we have no lodge in SC, NC, or Ga- someone should start a lodge and list it with the CFU.
Please friend I need visa to Croatia I need help please someone should help me
I didn't get to finish my post, lol, and sent it too early! Nevertheless, the President of Croatia was so sweet in hugging each of the team members and offering words of encouragement. As far as I'm concerned, Croatia won the hearts and minds of everyone. Had it not been for those 2 fouls that should not have been called - I believe they would have won. Much love to the people of Croatia!
