Thank you to Waterford Community Coalition for the work you do in our community for drug use education and prevention.

💜 Tomorrow is International Overdose Awareness Day.

It’s a day to remember the lives lost to overdose, support the families and friends who carry that loss, and remind our community that every life matters.

It’s also an opportunity to talk openly about substance use and overdose without judgment or stigma. Awareness, education, prevention, and connection can make a difference.

Tomorrow, August 31, we encourage you to take a moment to remember those we’ve lost and to stand with those who are struggling, those in recovery, and the people who love them.

Together, we can help build a community where people know that help, hope, and support are available. 💜

Monday August 31st is the first day of school for Waterford students!

Team Waterford wishes you all the very best as you head back into classrooms next week. Best wishes for a great year of learning, making new friends, trying new things, being kind to each other, and staying safe and healthy.

We can’t wait to see all of your "first day" pictures!

MOTORISTS: please use extra caution as you travel near schools and in neighborhoods while our families get back into their routines. Allow some extra time in your commute, and pack your patience — a little goes a long way! ❤️

Don’t forget — tomorrow Saturday, August 29th is the annual Battle of the Badges shoe drive for Waterford Youth Assistance!

Bring those gently worn shoes and cast your vote for Waterford Regional Fire Department or Waterford Township Police Department

Join Waterford Regional Fire Department and Waterford Township Police Department as they participate in the annual friendly, but fierce competition for bragging rights in the Waterford Youth Assistance Battle of the Badges fundraiser coming up Saturday, August 29th in the parking lot of Fire Station One.

Between 10am and 2pm, donate those gently used shoes your family has outgrown or no longer needs. 👞 👟

No matter which team you choose — Police or Fire — the real winners will be Waterford kiddos who receive support all year long from Waterford Youth Assistance services and programs! Follow their page for more about what these awesome folks do in our community.

Will Waterford Police 👮 finally reclaim the bragging rights this year? Or will Waterford Fire🧑‍🚒 claim the top spot again?!
