Welcome to Oakland County, Cass Lake Village!

Proud to celebrate our first new community in decades with a proclamation honoring the village and its residents tonight. On Aug. 4, voters approved the formation of this tiny district in West Bloomfield Township, sometimes known as “Little Venice.” This officially brings the number of municipalities in our region to 63!

Affordable housing remains a top priority in Oakland County.

Members of my strategic leadership team recently joined the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and partners like State Representative Brenda Carter for a bus tour through some of our Neighborhood and Housing projects in Pontiac and the southern end of our region to witness our progress and understand our community impact. To date, we’ve invested more than $45 million to expand options for residents.

We’re working with our partners to tackle housing insecurity and help residents find quality places to call their own.

Linking up with Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County for its Legislative Build Day in Southfield this week highlights what we can accomplish when we collaborate. The county recently allocated $500,000 to help the organization run our Senior Home Improvement Program, which will help older adults keep and maintain their homes.
