Attention CCPS families!
Can you take a minute to help?

Keystone Policy Center’s Center for Education is partnering with the Maryland State Department of Education’s Office of Early Childhood to lead the next major revision of the statewide family engagement guide.
Keystone is seeking a short quote that reflects meaningful experiences with family engagement. This can come from either a practitioner or a family member.
Vision statement: Maryland is committed to ensuring every child and student thrives through authentic partnerships among families, caregivers, educators, and communities that promote learning, well-being, and success from birth through age 21.
Family Engagement:
• Is a shared responsibility that enables every child and student to thrive.
• Is a continuous process grounded in strong, trusting relationships that promote family well-being and student growth.
• Occurs in a variety of learning settings and developmental stages from birth through age 21.
• Is an intentional and authentic practice that recognizes and responds to the strengths, needs, and experiences of all Maryland families.
• Is a strategy, beyond just specific activities and events, that leads to improved outcomes.
Can you provide a short quote that I can submit to MSDE and Keystone? They need quotes by this Friday, October 2.
You can send the quote to me (Tammy) by Thursday afternoon @ [email protected]
Thanks so much!

I wanted to share that Inclusive Pathways had an AMAZING turnout this past weekend for our first meeting of the year. You can see photos and video on our social media accounts (links below).

As a reminder, Inclusive Pathways is a community program for people ages 14–21 with and without disabilities. Hosted at First Presbyterian Church of Westminster, we bring together individuals from different abilities and walks of life to connect, collaborate, and support one another. This program is secular and welcomes participants of all faiths, spiritual traditions, and those who do not identify with any religious belief system.

If you know of any students who might benefit from this program, please share the information. You can also follow along the program page online.

We have 18 participants right now but could use a few more neurotypical peers to balance the group out. If you know of any students who would be a good fit (age 14-21) please pass this information along.
