📢 Planning Board Announcement

Beginning September 1, 2026, the Planning Board will shift its regular meeting time to 4:00 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m.

Meetings will continue to be held on Tuesdays in the Annex Meeting Room at 856 Main Road. This change applies to all Planning Board meetings moving forward.

We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we adjust our schedule. Please share this update with anyone who may need to know.

🚧 Roadwork Update – July 20–24 🚧

Please be advised that utility conduit work will continue July 20 through July 24 in the following areas:

🔹 Hixbridge Road – Work will continue westbound from the Westport-Dartmouth town line toward Pine Hill Gas.

🔹 Horseneck Road to Hixbridge Road – Work will continue northbound on Horseneck Road and onto Hixbridge Road (west).

🚦 No road closures are expected. Motorists should anticipate one-lane alternating traffic and possible brief delays while work is underway.

If you are traveling in these areas, please use caution, follow posted traffic controls, and remain alert for workers and equipment in the roadway.

*Due to the state wide air quality alert, from the Canadian wildfires, that is in effect from now until Thursday, 7/16 at 12am, we are CANCELING THE SUMMER CONCERT: JUKEBOX HEROES FOR THURSDAY, 7/16, 6-8PM. We will try to reschedule it for Thursday, 8/27, 6-8pm.

A Purple Flag is flying at Westport Beaches. This indicates the presence of dangerous marine life, such as jellyfish or other hazardous creatures, in the water. Use extreme caution if you enter, and always follow lifeguard instructions.

Extreme heat conditions will affect our area Thursday through Saturday, with Thursday and Friday predicted to be the hottest days, as heat indices may exceed 100 degrees.

Westport residents in need of a cooling center can visit the Westport Free Public Library at 408 Old County Road or the Council on Aging at 75 Reed Road. On Thursday, the library is open from 11 AM to 8 PM, and the COA is open 9 AM to 4 PM; both are closed on Friday and Saturday due to the holiday.

Westport residents in need of a cooling center outside of the Library or COA’s normal business hours should contact the Westport Police Department at 508.636.1122 or the Westport Fire Department at 508.636.1110.

Should the need arise, the Council on Aging, located at 75 Reed Road, will serve as a cooling center for Westport residents on Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 5 PM; if opened, follow-up information will be posted.
