It’s officially Harvest 2026.

Back to long nights, early mornings, meals eaten whenever there’s a break, and plans that depend entirely on the weather.

Farming has always been part of my life. I grew up on my family farm, and today I’m married to a farmer, so I know firsthand that harvest isn’t just a season…it’s weeks of hard work, long hours, stress, sacrifice, and hoping all the work of the past year pays off.

Across southern Indiana, farm families are heading into one of the busiest times of the year. To every farmer, farmhand, truck driver, grain elevator worker, and family member keeping everything moving behind the scenes: thank you for the work you do to feed our communities and keep our rural economy strong.

Here’s to good yields, cooperative weather, equipment that keeps running, and most importantly, a safe harvest for everyone.

Slow down on our rural roads, give farm equipment plenty of room, and help make sure everyone makes it home safely at the end of those long days.
