Your website builder saved you time, but is it causing you headaches?

I'm serious. Drop your link. It's better to know you have a problem so you can start fixing it than it is to wait for a customer to tell you they can't use your website.

401 web accessibility lawsuits were filed in July alone - is your organization next?

Listen, I hate fear mongering, but the reality is that if your website isn’t accessible, you are at risk. And the Title II Part H deadline pushback means nothing to your liability or risk of private litigation.

But many people get web accessibility wrong by thinking it’s solely about legal compliance. Laws exist to ensure we help people, but the real reason your website needs to be accessible is the humans using it.

Head over to this week’s blog and see not only the laws that apply to your business, but why web accessibility is a key part of your marketing strategy.

Has your website traffic dipped? Are more bots than humans clicking on your ads?

You are spending a lot of time, money, and effort to drive prospective students to your website, virtual events, and social media, but did you know that you’re shutting the door on about 20% of them?

When your digital content isn’t accessible, prospective students can hit digital barriers they can’t get past. Around 21% of undergraduates report having a disability, which means 21% of them use the internet a little differently.

If you want high-quality traffic that converts, your website has to be easy to use, with little to no friction.

In this week’s blog, we’re breaking down how you can make digital accessibility a key part of your enrollment marketing. Discover how it helps expand your social media reach, increase conversions, improve discoverability, and protect your university’s reputation.

Using your website might be making someone's day harder. Do you even care?

What's super frustrating about being in the web accessibility space? We have to talk about all of the benefits of accessibility that bring a company money.

How it helps your SEO, your conversions, your ROI, prevents lawsuits, improves your brand reputation.

But those of us who do the work every day know that the real reason this matters is that we're helping people.

Sure, accessibility helps improve your website across the board, but what it really does is make your corner of the internet finally easy for someone to use. They don't have to hit several roadblocks and try to work their way through a mess to understand if they want to work with you. It's just easy enough for them to get.

If your goal is to help your customers, then you need to hit that follow button and learn how you can do that in online spaces, too. For everyone.

Your website is probably difficult to navigate for individuals with disabilities. 28.7% of US adults have a disability, which is a huge number of people you're excluding.

And hey, I get that that feels like a big number. I've heard marketers and business owners try to claim "not their customers," but that's just not true.

Let's just take a look at a few of the people your web accessibility best practices help:

👂15% report trouble hearing

📚20% have dyslexia

👓5.5% have some difficulty seeing

👋and 27% have been diagnosed with some form of arthritis

Each one of these things can make using your website more difficult without some simple changes. In fact, it's annoying how easy some of these fixes are, and yet, you're ignoring them.

Your website needs to be accessible to everyone. Want to learn how simple your changes might be?

Does your organization receive federal funding? You probably breathed a sigh of relief when they pushed back the new Title II Part H, but here’s why you still need to be concerned.

Ignoring web accessibility is actively costing you.

While you have a lot of legal reasons to still be concerned (you can still get sued and found liable), your website needs to be accessible to maximize what it can do for you.

Want to get found easier? Web accessibility helps.

Want to reach more people? Web accessibility helps.

Want to increase your conversions? Web accessibility helps.

If your website is difficult for some of your ideal customers to use, it’s probably difficult for everyone to use.

In this week’s article, learn why you should stop ignoring web accessibility and how it can net you a 100:1 ROI.

A common misunderstanding: improving web accessibility is just about helping a small portion of the population.

While you should care about every single one of your customers, the reality is that web accessibility best practices help literally everyone.

Making your website easier for even just 1 person actually makes it easier for 99 more.

There's nothing better than continuing your education. Even better when you get to learn alongside friends in a fun place.

I recently got to spend the week in Orlando at EduWeb, learning more about the unique position higher ed marketing is in and how real college teams are tackling it.

The best part of the trip? Getting to meet our client Ashleigh from for the first time in real life. We've been helping their team for over 5 years now. After overhauling their website, rebuilding a custom solution, and helping them continue to reach important goals, it was fun to actually get to connect in person.

Making your website accessible doesn’t just help the 28.7% of people who have a disability. It helps 100% of people.

This is a really common misconception in the web world. I’ve had countless conversations with other developers and designers that following WCAG standards requires some kind of sacrifice. They want to be fully creative with their designs, and rules are no fun, they say.

Guess what: they’re wrong. Like, really wrong.

Sure, you can create beautiful websites that do really cool, fun things. But the odds are high that if you’re not following simple best practices, that cool fun website is difficult for everyone to understand. Which means you’ll have something that looks pretty, but gets no leads.

True web accessibility is about helping everyone use your website.

Not sure how that works? This week, we’re breaking down how web accessibility helps 100% of your customers.
