Joe Rice, a seventh-generation Wayne County farmer, is following along in his father's footsteps. Walter Rice was the Goodyear Conservationist of the Year in 1979. 👨‍🌾 We love seeing programs like H2Ohio supporting conservation! 💧🌾

Guess what?! The Wayne County Fair - Ohio is coming up faster than you think! 🎡

Today our office, along with John Yost from Ohio State University Extension - Wayne County , spent the morning sprucing up our fair barn and getting the pollinator plot ready for this year’s fair.

We can’t wait to see you September 12th–17th (be sure to stop by and say hello!) 😊

Wayne County continues to be one of Ohio's top spots for sandhill cranes!

The recently released 2026 Ohio Sandhill Crane Count once again highlights Wayne County as an important place for these incredible birds. While weather affected this year's statewide count, one thing remains clear—Wayne County continues to provide the habitat sandhill cranes need to thrive.🌎

💧It's a great reminder that conservation matters. Healthy wetlands and protected habitat don't just benefit wildlife—they make Wayne County a special place to live, work, and explore.

Have you spotted or heard a sandhill crane this year? We'd love to see your photos or hear where you've seen them in the comments!📸
