The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) was proud to participate in the Second Chance Matric Programme Career Day hosted by the Department of Basic Education at the Alicedale Town Hall in the Sarah Baartman District.

The event provided an excellent platform to engage directly with learners and demonstrate how the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) can support their educational and career aspirations.

During the engagement, SAQA:

* Promoted the NQF as a valuable tool for navigating career and study pathways.
* Shared information on key services, including qualification verification and the evaluation of foreign qualifications.
* Encouraged learners to make informed career and study choices based on recognised qualifications.
* Highlighted opportunities for empowerment through access to further education and improved employment prospects.

Through initiatives such as these, we continue to strengthen youth development and empower learners with the knowledge and resources needed to confidently transition into higher education and the world of work.

The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) participated in the Open Day and TRY-A-SKILL Exhibition hosted as part of the TVET Month celebrations at Western TVET College, Krugersdorp West Campus, earlier today. The event contributed towards the Transitioning to Occupational Programmes initiative.

The aim of the exhibition was to raise awareness among learners about the various career options available to them after matric, while also exposing, informing and educating them about Occupational Programmes.

The event brought together Grade 11 and 12 learners from local schools, who benefited from the career guidance provided. The exhibition also provided an excellent opportunity for participating institutions to showcase their products and services to a diverse and engaged audience.
