Spring has arrived in Toowoomba! 🌸✨🐝🌻🫶

International students from Centenary Heights State High School recently stepped outside the classroom to explore Laurel Bank Park, just in time for one of Toowoomba’s biggest annual celebrations, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.

Each spring, Toowoomba comes alive with colourful gardens, floral displays and events across the city. Laurel Bank Park is one of the Carnival’s feature locations, with its gardens transformed into vibrant displays for visitors to explore.

For international students studying in Toowoomba, excursions like this are a chance to experience what’s happening in their local community, spend time with friends and discover more of the region they get to call home while studying in Queensland.

And we think they picked a pretty good time of year for a visit! 📸

Football fans, this is a pretty exciting one! ⚽🇦🇺🇧🇷

The Queensland Football Series kicks off tonight, bringing the CommBank Socceroos and five-time FIFA World Cup champions Brazil (Confederação Brasileira de Futebol) together for two international matches right here in Queensland.

The first match is happening tonight at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville, before the action heads south to Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Tuesday 29 September.

It’s not every day you get to watch two national teams play this close to home! From local sport and school competitions to major international matches like this one, there are so many opportunities to get involved in sport while you’re studying in Queensland. ⚽

Brisbane Festival is back, bringing the city to life with live music, performances, art, entertainment and events throughout September.

If you’re studying in or around Brisbane, it’s a great opportunity to get out, explore the city and experience some of the arts and culture that make Queensland such a great place to live and study. 💙

And just like that, Term 3 is complete! 🎉

For many of our international students, this term marked the beginning of their Queensland study adventure. 💙 We hope your first term has been filled with new friendships, new experiences and plenty of great memories along the way.

For international students, being away from home, settling into a new school and experiencing a different culture can sometimes feel like a lot. A simple check-in with a friend can help them feel supported and connected.
