Queensland Arts Project Fund Round 2 recipients announced! 🎸💃

Investment of more than $1.3 million in funding will be shared across 35 creative projects led by talented individuals, groups and organisations from across Queensland.

These exciting projects include visual arts, theatre, dance, music, cabaret, writing and artist workshops.

Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art’s ‘Express Yourself: Art Activity Pop-Up’ is on the move 🎨✨

Bringing free dancing, drawing and digital activities to over 230 venues across Queensland, this family friendly program has already involved over 17,000 people, and there’s plenty more to come!

✨🌿 That’s a wrap! The Cairns Indigenous Art Fair has once again delivered an outstanding four-day program, featuring striking performances, fashion shows, concerts, insightful artist talks and an incredible art fair and market.

Is your big idea ready to shine? Applications for the Queensland Major Commissioning Fund are closing soon⏳

This fund supports the creation of Queensland-made landmark arts events and productions that will premiere locally as we head towards Brisbane 2032.

Eligible arts and cultural producers can apply for up to $250k in matched funding over two years to support up to 10 large-scale creative works. Additionally, up to $10k in extra funding is available to enhance access for artists and audiences with disability.

To be eligible, works must already be in an advanced stage of development, and first presentations must take place by December 2028.

This National NAIDOC week (5–12 July 2026), we celebrate 50 Years of Deadly, honouring the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s artwork, created by Yankunytjatjara artist and musician Zaachariaha Fielding, embodies the theme 50 Years of NAIDOC – Strength, Vision and Legacy.

Funding is available to support Queensland-based Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creatives to develop new performing arts works and connect visual, fashion and textile artists to national and international audiences.
