Our Tuesday training last night consisted of a drill call out, a chance for our team to practise under the time pressure of a call out. We had majority of the team running out hoses and two of our members training in BA (Breathing apparatus) with the help of our District Officer Brent running through drills to prepare for there upcoming course. A big thank you to the owners of O’Brien four wheel drive centre for allowing us to use there facilities.

In June each year, we hold our annual AGM (Annual General Meeting) we nominate, vote and elect our executive positions. This year we welcome an entire change over in executive members:

Captain: Lloyd Storey
Lieutenant: Chris Neighbour
Apparatus Officer: Allan Graham
Secretary: Erin De Boni
Treasurer: Tristan Penny

We sincerely thank last years executive members who have handed over so gracefully and brought us to where we are now. Their leadership, commitment and hard work will forever be appreciated.

Here’s to a new year!

On our Tuesday training night we ventured outside of the station! We pulled up at our local marina, and practised our ocean drafting. This is one of the many ways that we can collect water if we don’t have access to a hydrant. This can also be done from other large bodies of water such as dams, pools or lakes!

On the 10th of June we celebrate First Responders Day.

We take today to reflect and thank our first responders of all industries. Rain or shine they’re out there helping our community.

Today on June 1st it’s Smoke alarm action day! We encourage everyone to check there smoke alarms thoroughly, with the process of “Test, Check, Clean, Replace”! This small act can help keep you and your family safe in your homes.
