National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year, to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

The 2026 NAIDOC theme, 50 Years of Deadly, marks a milestone. It’s a tribute to the people who built this movement: the Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.

The 2026 National NAIDOC Week poster, Paralpi by acclaimed Yankunytjatjara artist and musician Zaachariaha Fielding, captures the spirit of this year’s theme.

Unfortunately due to a mechanical issue the Mobile library will be off the road today and until further notice. We'll let you all know via social media when she's up and running again.

On the bright side, the 13+ Folded Book Art workshop will still go ahead at Glenreagh School of Arts Hall between 2.30 & 3.30 pm.
There are still places available, so contact your library to make a booking today.

hey Lawrence,
due to your mobile Library being a special guest at this years Live 'n' loud in Grafton on Thursday, it will be in Lawrence between 2 & 3 pm for this week only.
This also means that the school holiday activity usually scheduled from 2.30 - 3-30 pm will now run between 2.10 & 2.50 pm.

we will back to the regular schedule next visit on the 30th April.
