🚒 Close to 10,000 people arrived in Australia aboard the Anna Salen during the 1950s. Many went on to build new lives right here in the Goldfields.

What began as research into her own father's journey has become a remarkable project for Amanda Lovitt, who has now documented thousands of passenger stories.

Join Amanda as she shares some of the incredible stories she has learned and discusses her project, which is helping to preserve an important part of Australia's migration history.

✨ Last week, the Museum of the Goldfields celebrated the activation of the Aboriginal Bush and Medicine Garden alongside community organisations, including Kalgoorlie PCYC and Goldfields Aboriginal Community Services.

🌿 Local youth took part in the activation, exploring the garden, learning about native plants, and sharing stories together in the yarn circle. Their enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the day was inspiring and highlighted the importance of these kinds of community events.

πŸͺƒ A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to NAIDOC Week 2026, celebrating Fifty Years of Deadly! It was wonderful to see the community come together and connect through nature and knowledge-sharing.

🌱 We invite everyone to visit the Museum of the Goldfields and experience the Aboriginal Bush and Medicine Garden for themselves!
