Today was National Tradies Day so we brought the team together for a BBQ and a chance to catch up.

But we had an extra reason to celebrate!

Thalia has officially completed her Mechanical Apprenticeship. 🔧 👏

Her love for everything mechanical started with her Grandad, who taught her from a young age and helped instil a passion for mechanics that has stayed with her ever since.

From there, she got her start working as a Trade Assistant before taking the next step into an apprenticeship. We’ve been lucky enough to be part of the final chapter of that journey and have Thalia complete her qualification with us at VPT.

Tonight, surrounded by the team, we got to present her with her certificate and a little gift from all of us to recognise what she’s achieved.

Finishing a trade takes years of hard work, plenty of learning and sticking with it through the good days and the tough ones.

It’s been great watching Thalia grow in confidence and ability, and even better knowing this is really just the start of her career in the trade.

Congratulations, Thalia. Well deserved and we’re proud to have you as part of the team.

Our team recently did a bit of work on this Komatsu PC1250, helping remove the bucket, stick and stick cylinder.

A good job to be part of and great to work alongside the other crews involved. Plenty of planning and teamwork goes into pulling gear of this size apart and getting it ready for the next stage.

Good work by everyone involved.

Diggers & Dealers is always a big week in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, and this year was no different.

A few from the team got amongst it, catching up with clients, suppliers and familiar faces, making some new connections and enjoying a few of the events around town.

Being a local business, there’s also something pretty special about seeing Kal come alive and welcome people from across the resources sector to our backyard.

We had a great time being part of it and thanks to everyone we crossed paths with throughout the week.

Until next year, Diggers!

Yesterday, some of the VPT ladies attended the KBCCI Women’s Leadership Forum 2026.

VPT wouldn’t be what it is without this team, so it was good to see them take some time out to connect and hear from some incredible speakers.

They came back talking about how great it was, the conversations and the different perspectives they heard throughout the day.

A big thank you to the KBCCI for another well-run event, and to everyone who shared their stories so openly.

If you've worked around a Liebherr R 9400, you'll know this isn't a small day at work.

Our team was proud to be part of this engine removal, rebuild and service.

It's the sort of work we like getting stuck into. Thanks to everyone involved, we appreciate the opportunity to be part of it.

Last week we brought our team together for a couple of sundowners to share what’s next for VPT.

As we prepare for an exciting new chapter, it was important to us that our team heard about it first. There’s plenty happening behind the scenes, and we’re excited to share more with you over the coming weeks.

Stay tuned… 👀
