Today was a truly unforgettable day at our school!

We were absolutely thrilled to accept a $150,000 cheque from Variety SA to help bring a brand-new all-inclusive playground to our school!

This playground will create a place where every child can play, connect, explore and have fun together, regardless of their abilities.

The excitement and joy on the children and participant's faces today was priceless. This is a moment they will remember for the rest of their lives. ❤️

A huge and heartfelt thank you to Variety - the Children’s Charity SA and everyone involved in making this incredible gift possible. We cannot wait to see the dream become a reality!

SAPSASA Soccer
Well done to the 7 x PLPS students that represented Lower Eyre Peninsula in Adelaide this week at the State SAPSASA Soccer Championships.

Maddi Ahola, Zara Boyd, Greta Webb, Meg Lohmeyer, Amayah Walter and Lylah Marks were members of the Girls team, whilst Lawson Reincke was a member of the Boys team.

A big thank you to Mrs Fraser for coaching the Girls team, Mr Cochrane for coaching the Boys team, Jacinda Leslie for her work helping co-ordinate the trials, uniforms, etc and to all the student's families for supporting their children's participation.

Last week students from 4 West & Copland spent some time connecting to the community by volunteering to assist in planting some local species of trees and shrubs just north of Tumby Bay.
Thanks to Geraldine and Perry from Landscape SA for organising this.
This opportunity directly links back to class learning too!

We are thrilled to announce that Variety SA has generously granted our school an incredible $150,000 towards our new playground! Our students and school community are so grateful and excited to see this project come to life.

To celebrate, the Variety SA Bash will be visiting PLPS this Friday, 14 August!

With Bash cars arriving from around 8:00am, the area around our school will be very busy. Where possible, we encourage families to consider an alternative drop-off location and avoid Lincoln Place on Friday morning.

We can’t wait to welcome the Bash and celebrate this exciting moment with our school community!

Thanks for supporting our over-the-counter fresh baked goods and weekly canteen specials.

Well done to the 38 x Year 5/6 PLPS students that travelled to Tumby Bay on Tuesday to compete in the annual Girls Football and Boys Netball Carnival. This Carnival is a great opportunity for the students to try something new, with many girls playing Australian Rules Football and the boys playing Netball for the first time.

Our students competed well throughout the day and enjoyed playing across the different positions, with most students scoring at least 1 goal throughout the day. All teams were quite successful, with the Girls winning the Football competition in an exciting game to finish the day.

A big thank you to our parent coaches Joh, Vanessa, Rebecca and Courtney for giving up their time to help on the day! They did such an amazing job organising their teams and without them, we wouldn't have been able to send as many students. They helped our students improve and made sure everyone got a chance to play in many positions and try to score a goal. Thanks also to our SSO Nathaniel and Mrs Anderson also for their help coaching, scoring and organising the students!

Good luck to the girls who will now try out for the Lower Eyre Peninsula SAPSASA Girls Football team that will head to Adelaide in October.

Well done to Shane Masson and the students from Tumby Bay Area School for running a great Carnival! We are all looking forward to next year already!
