πŸ¨πŸ¦” Australian Animals in The Learning Centre! πŸ¦”πŸ¨

This term, our Learning Centre students have been exploring the wonderful world of Australian animals. On Wednesday, they showcased their creativity by using plasticine and a selection of craft materials to make their own adorable baby echidnas (puggles) and adult echidnas.

SAPSASA State Cross Country
Well done to Greta Webb, Madden Lienert and Jak Ellis, who competed in the SAPSASA State Cross Country Championships at Oakbank Racecourse in the Adelaide Hills on Thursday, June 4. Greta, Madden and Jak qualified for the event after doing well at the local Cross Country Carnival at Pioneer Park earlier this term.
Competing in this event is a great experience for our students. Most races have close to 200 runners, from both the city and country, giving our students a chance to compete against the best of the best. Greta and Madden competed in the 11-year-old races which were ran over 3km. Greta finished in 50th position out of 161 runners, while Madden finished in 129th out of 181 runners. Jak competed in the 10 year-old boys race, which was ran over 2km. He finished in 153rd out of 187 runners. All 3 students should be very proud of their efforts.
A big thank you to Mr Ianniello from St Joseph's and our fantastic School Sport SSO Jacinda Leslie for organising the team.

Congratulations to the following Year 5 students who were acknowledged with school awards at assembly today.

On Wednesday we proudly hosted a Reconciliation Community Lunch in partnership with Reconciliation SA. We are incredibly honoured to have been chosen as one of only 5 sites across SA to host this important event.
Over 100 members of our community attended, and throughout the day our students’ pride, leadership and voice truly shone through.
A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to join us and share in this special occasion. We are feeling so incredibly proud of everyone involved. πŸ–€πŸ’›β€οΈ

Well done to Connor Richards, Lawson Reincke, Madden Lienert and Jhye Stimson, who participated in the SAPSASA Boys Australian Football Championships in Adelaide from May 25th to May 27th as a part of the Lower Eyre Peninsula team.

Australian Football is the most popular sport in SAPSASA, so making this team is a huge honour. There is a long and difficult selection process with close to 100 boys trying out so being selected is a great achievement. Due to the continued success of the LEP team, the boys competed in Division 1 against the best teams and players from South Australia - which included both city and country students. Across the 3 days they won 4 out of their 9 games and finished in 5th position.

A big thank you to their families for supporting their involvement, Darian Treasure and Shane Masson for helping coach and organise the team, as well as to Jacinda Leslie for her work behind the scenes organising trials, uniforms, etc.
