Rob is a lifelong resident of District 13, Charlottetown-Brighton. He grew up and attended local schools here, graduating from UPEI and Holland College. He and wife Kelly raised their sons Brodie and Ronan in Charlottetown-Brighton; it’s where he represented residents for two terms on Charlottetown City Council, and where he has volunteered with community groups like the United Way and the Colonel

Gray Education Foundation. Rob is an advisor, partner and investor in new business startups in the bioscience, sports technology and renewable energy sectors, and he worked as a consultant in the IT sector for more than 20 years. Rob is focused on working with you and for you as the MLA for District 13, Charlottetown-Brighton.

As our population grows and ages, we need to keep planning for the future.

Yesterday, we announced 80 new long-term care beds in Cornwall through The Mount Continuing Care Community. This new facility will help more Island seniors access the care they need closer to home and provide greater peace of mind for families.

This project is part of our commitment to expand long-term care capacity across Prince Edward Island and ensure Islanders can access the right care, in the right place, when they need it.

I’ve had the opportunity to get to know Caley and see firsthand her commitment to her community. She’s someone who cares deeply about the people around her, works hard, and isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and get involved.

June is Brain Injury Awareness Month.

Brain injuries can change lives in an instant, and their impacts are often not visible to others. This month is an opportunity to raise awareness, learn more, and recognize the strength of Islanders living with brain injuries, as well as the families, friends, and caregivers who support them.

From June 15 to 19, the Brain Injury Awareness Flag will fly at the Prince of Wales Building as a reminder that understanding, compassion, and support can make a real difference.

It was great to stop by The Nook in Alberton with MLA Ernie Hudson.

The Nook is much more than a thrift store. Through the dedication of volunteers and community support, it helps raise funds for Western Hospital and supports healthcare services in West Prince.

We recently learned that IRAC has issued its decision on Maritime Electric’s application to recover restoration costs related to Hurricane Fiona.

Like all Islanders, I will always be grateful to the frontline crews who worked day and night to restore power in the days and weeks after the storm.

But gratitude for those workers does not mean Islanders should be expected to carry the financial burden when a utility company falls short of its responsibilities.

The regulator found that the company’s vegetation management practices were not up to industry standards, which contributed to the extent of the damage caused by Fiona.

Islanders are facing affordability pressures every day, yet time and time again they are being asked to absorb the costs of decisions and shortcomings that should be a shareholder responsibility, not Islanders.

This is only one of several applications currently before the regulator, and there is a growing sense among Islanders that they are being asked to shoulder too much risk while shareholders continue to enjoy guaranteed returns.

That needs to change.

My government is moving forward with reforms to modernize the electricity regulatory framework in Prince Edward Island. We need a system that rewards performance, demands accountability, and puts Islanders' interests first.
