Looking for a way to give back to your community? Here are some of the many ways to volunteer at Basically Babies:

⭐️Join our regular volunteer team on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays (Edmonton) or Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays (Calgary) each week as they sort donations, size/inventory tiny clothes, launder layettes, and assemble the contents into the beautiful finished product ready to clothe a newborn for their entire first year
⭐Attend a regularly scheduled work night once a month. and sort donations as well as help with other warehouse tasks as needed
⭐Organize a group of your own (corporate, church, school, sports team) and arrange with our office for a special work day or work night planned just for you and your gang
⭐Help with a fundraising event such as our annual Mother’s Day Brunch and Silent Auction
⭐Talk with us about volunteering to organize a donation drive for some of our most needed baby item.

Every Basically Babies layette is thoughtfully packed with a little extra love. Along with clothing and baby essentials, we also include:

📚 Infant storybooks to encourage early learning and bonding
🧸 Soft stuffed animals for comfort and cuddles
🎲 Small toys to bring smiles and support early development

These special additions help create moments of joy for babies and their families during a challenging time. Because every child deserves comfort, play, and the magic of a bedtime story. 💙

You can help make that happen! We're always in need of new or like-new infant and toddler board books, small baby-safe toys, and soft stuffed animals to include in our layettes. Your donations bring comfort, joy, and a little extra love to the babies and families we serve.

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight! 🌟

We are so grateful for our amazing volunteers who go above and beyond for our charity! Recently, one of our dedicated volunteers brought along her adorable twin granddaughters while dropping off a batch of beautifully cleaned shoes. Their smiles and enthusiasm brightened our day and reminded us of the importance of community and giving back. Once they are old enough, I think we have some future volunteers!

Today we celebrate every kind of father and father figure — dads, stepdads, grandfathers, foster dads, adoptive dads, uncles, partners, mentors, and the caring people who show up with love, patience, and support for little ones and families.

From our staff and volunteers, thank you for the comfort, strength, laughter, late-night cuddles, diaper changes, bottle prep, and steady encouragement you bring to the lives of babies and children every day.

As we continue outfitting newborns in need with essentials and care, we’re grateful for the fathers and father figures helping create safe, loving starts for families in our community.

⭐ We are incredibly grateful to everyone who is taking our recent request to heart by purchasing and delivering new or gently used infant sleepers to Basically Babies. Your generosity helps ensure that we can continue creating layettes for newborns in need, giving families a warm and caring start during a challenging time.

⭐ A very special thank you goes to the Melinda Green Memorial Foundation for their immediate response and extraordinary generosity. They quickly took action and donated more than 200 brand-new infant sleepers, making a tremendous impact on our ability to serve babies and families in our community.

Every sleeper donated represents comfort, dignity, and care for a newborn who needs it most. Thank you for helping us make a difference, one baby at a time. 💕

⭐ We are in desperate need of sleepers as we create layettes this week and next, and wondered if any of you would be willing to help out! ⭐

We accept new or gently used sleepers size newborn-24 months. At the moment our most serious need is in the 0-6 month category. We found a couple of great deals through Walmart.ca and if you or someone you know are able to purchase and have them delivered to our warehouse at 14839-118 Ave Edmonton, AB T5L 2M7, we would be so grateful!.
